Samsung HLN5065W problem

Good day all, My problem is this, when the set is turned on after approx. 45 min the picture turns black and white pixeled. Fans, color wheel, lamp and sound are all still runnig. The set does not shut down. I cleaned out the fans to remove any dust that might be restricting air flow. I had a service man come to the house and he didn't even look inside the set, he said it's the digital board and it would be $500 for the board and $300 for a 15min minute install. I am an electrical eng. and I wasn't going to pay that kind of money. He didn't even open the set up, so I purchased a new digital board from Samsung parts for $300 plus shipping. This did not fix the problem. I am thinking it could be the color wheel even though it is not making any noise, but I have also read that the fan(s) can be the problem, but they are running smooth and at the same speed, ballast or thermal device. It is hard to tell if the color wheel has stoped moving with the lamp covering it. I would appreciate any kind of help with this problem. Is there any checks that I can do. Also, I read that you have to reset the hours when you replace the bulb. I did not do this. Could this be the problem? How do I reset the hours? Do I need to reset the hours? Thank you for your time and help with this problem. Peter

Power issues (Tv True True (``````````` (``````````` 0 95250 95250 Samsung HLN5065W problem - clip_image002.gif not turning on) were typically due to faulty ballast. While the TV reports a bad lamp it is the ballast itself causing the issue. Samsung True True (``````````` (``````````` 0 95250 95250 clip_image002.gif is well aware and will replace both the ballast and the lamp (since the lamp can be prematurely aged but the bad ballast). After replacment most people stop having issues.

Samsung HLN5065W only displays black & white picture

Hello,This problem denotes a defective color wheel, I would not suggest that you attempt to change it becuse of the risk of causing more damage. I would advise that you have the Tv repaired by a qualified TV technician, due to problems I have seen when repairing sets like this due to improper reinstallation of the color wheel.I hope this helps,Thank you,Shuttle83http://www.electron-age-technologies-llc.com

My Samsung HLN5065W started to freeze to a black and white

I have a problem with my HLN 5065W Samsung DLP that 3 other folks have and no solution. After the set is on from 5 minutes to 6 hours, the screen will freeze in black and white, I can turn it off for 5 minutes and it will display a good picture again. Sometimes the screen will just go dark blue, TV has to be cycled on/off to get the display back. This problem is getting worse, started as once a month, now 3-5 times a day. I have a tech background and can read a schematic, HELP.
