My bother broke plug and tried to hot wire it straight to battery in car now it want come on .

He fried it. There is a significant difference in other electrical currents in the car from the direct battery. The unit will need to be serviced but shouldnt be visibly damaged from the outside. If it did suffer obvious electrical damage it is likely beyond repair Hope this helps!

Go to the Cobra website (see Resources) and click on "FAQ" at the top of the page.

Use the drop-down menus to select "Nav One 2750-2950-3000-3080" and "Software Updates." Click "Submit."

Click "How do I get and load software updates?" Click the bold "HERE" link.

Scroll down and click "Nav One 3000/3080."

Click on the latest update link to download the update to the computer.

Connect the NavOne's power but do not turn it on. Connect a USB cable to the computer, and connect the other end to the GPS.

The GPS device's LEDs light up, indicating a connection.

Double-click on the update file you have downloaded.

Click "Next" until the update begins.

When you are notified of completion, close the update

Where do I get an unlock code for my cobra gpsm 3000 navone

unfortunately, if you locked you unit and dont remember the passcode, the unit has to be sent in to cobra because they are the only ones that can unlock it. Its an anti theft measure. Their contact number is 1-773-889-3087.

COBRA NAVONE 300 GPS RECEIVER

The only thing I can suggest is to shut it off and reboot. I have experienced an occassional problem like that and seems to be related to calculations for some areas. There is an area in OK where mine will lockup everytime I go thru there. Try downloading the update from the Cobra site. It is a 2005 update.

Unit does not have a demo mode that I can find or have ever seen and I have been using mine for over 4 years.

Turn it off and reboot.
