Whirlpool GSSR26C4XXF refrigerator. The red error code icon will not disappear on the Whirlpool refrigerator model GSSR26C4XXF even after I changed the filter.

How do you reset the filter light on a Whirlpool refrigerator?
To reset the light, simply locate the water filter button and hold it down for 3 seconds. Keep your water filter in good condition by changing it regularly, using Whirlpool filters, and getting your fridge serviced by a Whirlpool technician.

The "clean" light blinks

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If the clean light flashes, pauses, and then repeats. When the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it stops working and locks the functions (clean light flashes, all buttons are non responsive). It does this as a safety in case the element is broken and feeding electrical current into the water.

To resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence...

-high temp wash

-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry

Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Light blinks 7 times on a du1050 whirlpool dish washer

I am having this problem now. I have replaced the circuit board, without success. There are many things that could be the cause, but I will be checking the door latch switches first. Also, if the main wash pump becomes clogged this could also cause the error code.

Whirlpoool dishwasher not turning on model du1050

Make sure you have power to the dishwasher, check circuit breaker. If circuit breaker is ok, then remove toe panel at bottom front of machine, on the right hand side is where the power cable goes into a little metal box. Turn off circuit breaker to kill power to the dishwasher, remove electrical box cover and check to make sure that the wire nuts are tight. Reapply power and test. If still no go then remove tech service sheet from toe panel insulation, get yourself a multi-meter and start test individual components until you find the one that is bad. Hope this helps.

Whirlpool DU1050 / Clean light flashes 7 times

Cmattson, This problem has been a real pain for owners of this model as well as us techs who repair them. There are a lot of things to check to get to the right problem. First, the water entering the dishwasher should be no less than 120 degrees. During the first 8 minutes of the initial wash cycle, the heater should be on. You can check this by dropping the toe panel and doing some tests. The element will be in the rear, so it can be difficult to get at unless you can pull the unit out some. Make sure the wires to the heating element are on. With a meter, you should be able to verify that the heater is receiving 120V during the first 8 minutes. The main board monitors the thermistor to see if there has been a rise of 4 degrees with water that enters below 110 degrees and 2 degrees with water that enters above 110 degrees. If it does not see this, it will drain and flash the clean light. The element itself should ohm out at 10 to 35 ohms. Other things you might have to check; The heater runs on the nuetral side of the door switch so you want to make sure the d/w is level and the door is closing properly. If the left door switch is not making contact, the element will not heat. Make sure all the harnesses are on tight on the control board. I have found in most of my calls on this problem it was a faulty heater. I've only had one case of a faulty thermistor. Best of luck on this..
