Question about Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) Console

Ps2 i have a slim ps2, it did not load any game cd, dvd & any audio cd, i gave it to a shop to fix it but thety can't find the promlem. Do you what is the problem

My slim Ps2 will not play DVD's and it will not play games that it used to. When it loads the games it will go to the browser screen and try to load. Then when you try to turn it off it wont until you open...

The lens maybe dirty or damage. Open your ps2 console and get a soft brush and clean the lens. If you are afraid to open it try to buy some dvd lens cleaner cd.

You can buy new DVD pickups online for about 15-20 It will take a very small phillips screwdriver and needlenose pliers to change out the old one

Can ps2 slim play ps1 cd?

harpy_125..yes they do .but you do need an old version memory card to memorise your games. does it play music cds . if so it should read the games as these are only cd and not dvd..

you can not play a pirated cd because of different region you need the assistance of a technician by modifying this, probably the change of the lens is the correct answer

Hi Raven, Its sounds like you have a PS2 Slim with a melted Laser. What you will find is that the Slim will only read CD's, CDR's, PS1 Games, Blue back PS2 games and DVD's. I can repair this for $35 plus shipping to and from The Playstation Clinic in Fountain Inn, SC. The webpage is www.playstationclinic.com If you do not have a Slim, you either have dirty disc, or Lens. You may have left some fibers from the Q-tip across or around the lens.

I needed to get the CD with the remote control in order to play songs and movies. There is a CD you buy that you can download onto your PS2 slim and afer you do this, you should be able to play movies, music, etc.....
