HELP!! It worked this morning, and now it won't work. I have tried all sorts of DVD's and CD's and they all have the same problem. The computer doesnt seem to register them. I can hear it making a noise like its processing when I first insert the disc, and the mouse comes up with a small CD icon next to it, but then nothing further happens. It would normally open up a box asking what I want to do next. I cant even open them via My computer.
Your driver(s) may be corrupt. Try this. RIGHT click on MY COMPUTER from your desktop, select PROPERTIES from the drop down menu, select the HARDWARE tab, click on the DEVICE MANAGER button, click on the (+) by the DVD/CD-ROM DRIVES line, RIGHT click the drive that isn't working, (this part may sound scary) select the UNINSTALL option, click OK in the warning box, then restart your computer. On restart, WIndows will automatically detect the deleted DVD/CD-ROM drive and will install the appropriate non-corrupt driver(s). This should solve your problem. If not the drive may be defective. Hope this helps!
