Motorola E815-Mute button activating by itself

Has any one had a problem with the Motorola E815 mute button going on by itself. I can dial a number and before person answers the mute is activated. Also I can be talking and all of the sudden the person I am talking to keeps ask are you still there and sure enough the phone is on mute again. Thought my face might be hitting the button, but tried it on speaker phone where I could watch it and same thing happens.

yes....I can use my blue tooth and speaker feature, but I can't seem to "unlock" the mute feature.

Mute mode activates somehow without my knowledge. My last two phone calls were incomplete because the person I called could not hear me but I could hear them. I have no idea how the mute function engaged or how to disengage. After two attempts I heard “I will call you as I cannot hear you.”

I don’t know what the programmers were thinking but this phone is not user friendly. Still searching for information concerning turning off the mute function.

When you open the flip on the phone, it will be the upper small silver button above the volume buttons on the left side. Just press and hold until you hear a beep. It should only take 2 seconds.

SOURCE: Razr in mute mode

the only mute function is to mute/unmute a call during the active call.
It is the - key (center button at the top of the keypad)
Have you turned the volume too low?
If you turn the volume to low, it will stay low all the time until you reset it to a higher level.
You just press the volume keys on the side of the flip lid or set in the setup menu.

SOURCE: Motorola Razr v3 stuck in mute mode. Finally find mute switch during a call, turn it off , says mute off with green arrow and then it reverts back to mute!

Back up your data and do a factory reset. You will lose all data but this usually will fix this issue.

My I use my H 710 I can hear my customers but they can not hear me. How do I remove mute? Thanks

The mute function is enabled through the volume buttons. Simply tap both volume buttons at the same time until you hear a mute tone. The mute tone when unmuting the call will be a descending tone. When you tap both volume buttons, if you hear a descending tone you have just disabled the mute function and your problem is solved. If the mute tone is ascending tones you have just enable the mute function and this was not the issue. If this is the case consult your user manual or contact Motorola for trouble shooting.

    They can't hear me.

    hi there

is there by any chance the mouthpiece speaker may need replacement? if you use bluetooth headset, it would be fine. but without bluetooth, they cant hear you.

i suggest you look for a replacement mouthpiece speaker for that to work.
    hope this helps.

Did you check that you didn't activate mute?
If it is on mute. Press both volume buttons at the same time you will hear two descending audio tones.

    Voice Dialing Issues

I am sad to say that the voice recognition failure is permanent on most of the E815 phones. Your phone will likely never support voice dialing again, even though the cause remains unknown.

I too had the peculiar problem of pressing the voice button and hearing a beep, but no voice prompt ("Say a command"). When I researched the issue, I found a plethera of similar problem reports. Very few reported recovery after simply restarting the phone. I even found one report of Motorola tech support giving up and instructing the owner of the phone to have it replaced.

Yamaha RX-V793 flashing light on volume control and no volume

Per Yamaha support page: The volume light on my Yamaha AV receiver is flashing, what does this mean ? The "MUTE" function on your remote control has been activated. The reason that you can still hear a very low sound is that the muting circuit within your stereo is not a full mute, but rather a -20dB mute. To deactivate the "MUTE" function, simply press the "MUTE" button on your remote control. (Make sure the volume control is turned down to avoid damage to your system.) If you misplace or lose your remote control, you will have to purchase a new remote control unit, as there is no duplicate function on the front panel of your stereo. Unplugging the stereo will not deactivate the muting circuit, as the microprocessor "remembers" if the muting circuit was active prior to being turned off or unplugged. If you need to purchase a remote control, you may order one directly from our parts office. You may reach them by dialing (714) 522-9888 from 8 am to 3 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Friday. If you have any other questions, please contact our customer service department by dialing (800) 292-2982 Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
