Question about Jensen JER-422 Universal Remote Control
Have a Jensen JER 422 Universal remote and can't seem to find the code to program my Magnavox VR400MBG21 VCR. Having the manual would make things a lot easier but unfortunately I do not have it. Tried to go to the Jensen Remotes web site, to no avail. Any assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Leslie66
Update: Apparently Jensen/Recoton has gone into bankruptcy, and the video accessories division has been purchased by Thomson Electronics who is in the process of reorganizing. For a manual code search and entry: Magnavox 6035 6017 6031 6027 6068 6014 6096 6109 6004 6082 6028 6033 6055 6071 6074 1. Turn on the component 2. Press and hold the component key (TV, DVD, VCR-AUX, SAT-CBL) The illuminated on-off key turns on and stays on 3. While holding the component key down, press and hold the ON-OFF key. The illuminated ON-OFF key turns off. 4. After holding down both keys for three seconds, the illuminated ON-OFF key turns back on. 5. Release both keys. The illuminated ON-OFF key remains on 6. Press and release the ON-OFF key repeatedly until your component turns off. Wait four seconds between each keypress. Each time you press the ON-OFF key, the illuminated ON-OFF key blinks, and the next code in the list is sent. This process continues until all of the codes in the code lists have been searched. If your component turns off, you have found the correct code. (If it cycles through and the illuminated ON-OFF key blinks four times and turns off, all codes have been search. The manual code search method is exited.) 7. Once you have found the correct code, you must save the new code by pressing and releasing the STOP key. The illuminated ON-OFF key turns off. You must press the STOP key to save the code or the correct code will not be saved. 8. To confirm that the component is programmed with the correct code for max functionality, test the component. Attempt to control a variety of the component's functions with the remote. If some of the features of your component do not work try programming the remote with a different programming method. Be sure to retrieve the code your remote programmed. Auto Code Scan: The Auto Code Scan feature allows you to set up your components without having to enter in code numbers. The Jensen will do the work for you! (It may take a few minutes to find your code using this method.) Turn on the component that you want to set up. Hold the component key down until the light comes on. The green light should come on after approximately 3 seconds. Release the component key. If you are programming the DVD or CD device press the "action" key. The red indicator light will come on. Press "0" - "9" The green light will blink as codes are sent. As soon as the remote turns your component off, press the "action" key. (You have 1 second in which to press the "action" key to save the code.) The component key lights will blink with an upward motion when a code has been successfully entered. The component is now programmed. To find that code, proceed to Code Readback. If none of the codes turn your component off, return to step 2 and start over.
