Enter Olympus web site and look for your camera drivers to be used with your OS. Download the drivers in your computer and it should solve your problem. Good luck!

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto.

Please set the "USB Connect" option in the Menu of the Camera to "Mass Storage" option.
Steps to go to USB Connect option:
Press Menu button and select Setup option.
Then select the Setup 2 and then the USB Connect option

Then connect the Camera to the Computer and the Camera will be recognized as a removable device in "My Computer".

The Computer recognizes the Camera as a Removable device just like a Pen Drive. You can access the files in the Camera in the same way you access the files in the Pen Drive.

Then copy the files and paste them to a desired location on the Hard drive of the Computer.

If this does not work, then you may select the "PTP" option and Pictbridge option before connecting the Camera to the Computer to check if they work.

Please use the supplied USB cable to connect the Camera to the Computer.

First, I need to ask the dumb questions:
1. Are both computers running XP?
2. When you connect the camera, do you turn the camera on?
3. Do other USB devices work when connected to the same
USB PORTS you are using to connect the camera?

Ok, since the camera is not recognized at all on both computers, we can pretty much disregard USB PORT failure, but just in case, try different USB PORTS on both, please.

Most if not all cameras should be recognized as mass storage devices just by connecting them to USB PORT on computer, and should be visible as a new drive in MY COMPUTER icon.

Maybe your bundled USB CABLE is not working, or this is one camera that insists on using the bunbled software package that came with the camera.

Last thing to try is to buy a multi-card reader/writer and put the memory card in there. That has to work!

Hope that helps.

Connection between camera and computer

What operating system are you using? Is you camera connected via USB? Have you tried using another USB port? Did you make sure to install the software before plugging in your camera?

Generally if you are running Windows 98, you will need to reboot after installing the software to even have a chance of the camera being recognized correctly.

If you are running Windows 2000, XP or Vista, the camera should be recognized and a driver installed or searched for from the CD software you installed before plugging in the camera.

Sometimes if you plug in the camera first without installing the software, the PC finds a new device with no driver. You can see this by going to Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager and you should see and exclamation on a device in the list. You need to remove this item and reboot your PC.

Now install the software first and when the install is done, then plug in your camera. Generally this works out pretty well.

Says camera is not connected to computer

I found this on another site. You have to set the camera itself to Mass Storage mode in order to work with Windows 2000. The steps are below. As soon as I did and plugged the camera back into the USB cable, Picture Project recognized the camera as connected, installed the mass storage driver for it and requested a restart of the PC. Able to access the memory card and download pictures.

On the camera itself, unplug the USB, turn it on and...

Press MENU....
Press ▲▼to choose SETUP...press OK...
Press ▲▼to choose INTERFACE...press OK...
Press ▲▼ to choose USB...press OK...
Press ▲▼to choose MASS STORAGE...press Ok..
Press MENU to exit...
Then plug it back into the USB cable.

Good Luck

Says camera is not connected to computer

I'm assuming that you are using a Windows based machine? If so, try another computer. If the camera is recognized when you plug it in, you have a software / driver issue and it's not in the camera. Just plug the computer into any other computer and don't bother with the software.
