Well there is no nice On/off switch but if you want to tell windows which microphone to use open the control panel and open ?Sounds and Audio Devices?. Open the Voice tab and at the bottom of that box you should see a section labeled Voice recording.
If you have another microphone installed you should be able to use the pull down menu to select it.
If you just want to prevent the internal microphone from picking up anything click on the Volume button and turn down the mic sensitivity by moving the slider bar to the bottom.
