Not sure if anyone is here to help, but I seem to have a problem. Got my new Wii today and set it all up in a few minutes. As I set the Wifi connection up to my router, up came an onscreen prompt to download an update, which I confirmed, expecting it to take a few minutes. That was at about 12.15 pm today. It is now fast approaching 5pm and it is still stuck on the download (the bar hasn't moved for hours) I did ring the Nintendo helpdesk at about 1pm before going out, but they assured me the first download could take hours, maybe even overnight, especially if their server was particularly busy. Does this sound right? I am growing increasingly convinced that it has crashed and burned, so to speak.
My wii was stuck. i unplug the power from the wall and plug back in again and it worked. hehe am back on. lucky mii

Thanks for the reply. In the end, I pressed reset then inserted Mario Strikers Charged to get the first update sorted. After that I went back online for the second update and it worked no probs.
However, after setting everything up successfully, including getting the Internet Channel and some VC games downloaded, it then decided that it could no longer pick up my wifi router signal, so I am now trying to work out what has changed.
I was online for ages, browsing the web and setting up favourites, then suddenly up came an error message and I haven't been able to get back online since.
I've been browsing forums and this seems to be a common problem, unfortunately. The router is already set to channel 11, so I can't change that, and it is only situated about 4 metres from the Wii (in the next room) so the signal should not be weak.
I'm sure I'll crack it, it's just proving to be a bit more troublesome than I expected.
