Is it safe to use an exotic terra snake cave in an aquarium as a fish hide?

• Since most heaters are made of glass, you should look for cracks. If there are visible cracks, throw the heater away because if water enters the heater it can cause electric shocks to the fish and even to the owner.
• Make sure that the fish doesn't use the heater has a hiding space because it can get severely burned from the heater. Basically, just create safe hiding places with decorations for you fish so it doesn't have to hide behind the heater.
• Never take a warm heater out of the water. Make sure you take it out after it has been unplugged for at least 30 minutes.

Like any other creature in the world fish need their sleep. When you turn the lights off the fish will start looking for a shelter for them and get some sleep. You can see that if you suddenly point a flashlight toward them the will start swimming in a dazed matter and look for a new hole to hide in.
