Hi every tin i turn my receiver it turns on then shuts off and the standby light starts to blink if there is anything i can do to get it to stay on and not shut off it would be great thank you al.
I've had this reciever for a long time now. I just need to know if there's a cheaper way to fix my receiver than to take to a repair shop and have them charge me just as much as a new receiver would cost. I have a VR 307 Kenwood and I have the same problem with the stand by light flashing. Appreciate any advice. Vaughn

Hello,
sorry to say this, but there is a hardware error. Possibbly something is wrong at the output stage. Please send it to tech for a repair. But first disconnect the speakers and then try to turn it on. If there is no change the error is still present.
Best regards.

there might be a power-related part that needs to be upgraded. Please check the table of contents of the manual for errors or troubleshooting section to identify what procedure needs to be followed to get your kenwood working again.
Blinking indicates that the power source has shut itself down because another component has died and it's shorting it. Unless you have experience in electronics it's time to take the receiver to a repair shop.
If the standby indicator is blinking that just means that the speaker wires are short circuited some where. Make sure all of the wires are intact, unplug everything starting with the power. Then you will want to make sure all wires going to the receiver are not kinked / twisted / or exposed. If all wires look good, plug everything back in and power on the unit. you should be good to go.
I have a VR205 with the same problem. I can make it stay on by doing this: as soon as the display lights up turn off the power and then turn it back on quickly. Do this 3 or 4 times. Mine usually stays on after this....the relays latch and all is well I suspect one of the step-start relays as I have checked everything else out and all is in order and the receiver works fine. I would love to find a shop manual for this series of receivers. Anyone know where such an animal exists?
