CD Ejects Hi, In dash unit - Eclipse ESIV CD 3404. Disconnected battery to instal new light bulbs and the unit is malfunctioning. Insert CD and it ejects. No response to any of the other buttons on the unit. Have looked everywhere to see if there is a 'reset' procedure after battery disconnect. Thanks, Bill

In our case, the sutuation is a bit more complex. The in-dash unit doesn't have a CD changer, as the previous owner installed a massive eight-CD unit in the trunk (and kept it upon trade-in). We had electrical work done on the car (bad starter) and now, the dash unit continually reads "disc," and none of the buttons work.

A couple of suggestions. Check ALL the fuses, most units have 2 or more. Search the front panel carefully, many units have a tiny 'reset' switch, which is activated by pushing a pencil point into it's hole. They are usually marked, but with tiny letters.

No security code audio system

These units do not have a security code like some radios. Instead, they are coded using a CD. You insert a CD into the radio and it codes to that disc. You need that same CD if you ever want to unlock the player. If you don't have it, you are SOL. Eclipse is no longer in business and they were the only ones that could reset it. The system is known as "ESN Security".

ESN Security: This unit is equipped with the Eclipse Security Network. You can register a particular music CD as a "key" device which unlocks the security. If the registered CD is not detected, the navigation and audio functions will be disabled when the main unit is disconnected from and reconnected to the vehicle's battery.

3G Mitsubishi Eclipse Climate Control Light Bulb Replacement

The control panel for the heater and A/C must be removed. Suggest you get Chilton's manual from the library. It will take you through step by step with pictures. To summarize: 1) Remove trim panel covering radio and heater controls. 2) Remove radio. 3) Disconnect the two heater control cables from the control panel. The trick to removing the cables is to compress the "claw" spring holding the cable by pressing a screwdriver from the underside of the control panel to release each cable.4) Remove control panel. Take to a workbench. From the backside of the control panel at the top, notice two large holes through which you can access the V2 Toshiba bulb holders. Turn them a quarter turn to remove them and the bulbs. The bulb is a common #74 bulb.

I had disconnected the battery on my truck. After reconnecting the battery. The eclipse avn 5435 has a screen that reads "security please insert disc". What disc? I bought this truck about a...

Eclipse radios are set up so the first cd inserted in the cd is used to unlock the radio if power is ever disconnected or the radio is stolen. You are going to have to call eclipse and see if they will unlock the radio for you. If the radio has been reported stolen, chances are they will not help you. You should be able to contact them at their website. If you can get the radio out of the dash, there is a phone number for eclipse on the chassis also.

Won't power up. Displays SEC / Help Then SEC / 8D201399 Note the serial number is CD201399. Alan

All Eclipse brand radios have a feature called ESN (Eclipse Security Network) installed. This means a Key CD may be inserted into the head unit so that if the unit is stolen or battey is disconnected from the unit you will have to enter the key CD to unlock the unit.

For example, lets say you purchased this unit from bestbuy. You installed it in your car and you wanted to activate the ESN security feature. You need to choose anyone of your cd's from your collection, lets say you chose The Offsping, Conspiracy of One. Input the disc hit the correct buttons ( I'll explain those later) and your Eclipse 54400's ESN is active.

Now, your 54400 is stolen a week later, the thief will plug in the 54400 into his car and it will show SEC [disc], so he/she will insert a cd and it will say [ERR]. If he or she does this 5 times it will show [call 800] which will lead them to Eclipse customer service, but you will have already called eclipse and told them that your unit was stolen. Whether you get your head unit back is highly doubtful but nobody else will be able to use it.

Now for your answer, to activate ESN:
1.Turn the vehicles ignition on and press the power button 2. Press and hold Radio station preset 1 and the FM-AM button for more than one second 3. Insert the CD of your choice. A [SEC] message will now aooear on the screen and ESN is active. Anytime the unit loses power you will have to reinsert the key cd.

To deactivate the ESN feature:
1. Turn the vehicles ignition on and press the power button or the FM-AM button (make sure the tuner is on). 2. Press and hold the radio station preset button 1 and the FM-AM for more than one second. 3.Once the display flashes [disc] insert the key cd you selected to activate the ESN. The display should now read [CnCl]. The ESN is now deactivated.

To resume normal operation after the power has been disconnected to the unit:
1. Wait for the dispaly to read [disc]. 2. Insert you key cd, if the correct CD is inserted your display will read [---] and the cd will begin to play. If the wrong CD is inserted it will display [Err]. If you insert the wrong CD 5 times it will say [call 800] and then you have to send the unit to eclipse to have it rest. Good Luck!

How to read the Electronic Serial Number:
1. Turn the vehicles power on. Prss the FM-AM button. 2. Press radio preset button 4 and the FM-AM button for more than a second and the display should show your 8 digit serial number. This number is to identify your unit if it is recovered after being stolen. Yep, that will happen!

Keep in mind that the "security code" in a radio basically fulfills this function, ensure that in case of theft, the computer does not work in another vehicle;
I didnt know there was a website to get the radio codes. Before you pay anyone to get your radio security code, I recommend you get on the internet, Eclipse dealers, ask for the parts counter, tell them you need your radio code, have your serial number handy as well as all other numbers off the radio housing.

Or, call 1-800-233-2216 (Fujitsu ten) and they will assist you in the removal of the security code for a $25 charge. the number being displayed is probably the serial number of your unit. If you can remove your radio the SN will be on a tag.

Hope this helps.

NOT POWERING UP.

This unit is equipped with ESIV which is an electronic security system that is coded by any cd of the users choice. If the ESIV was on when the unit was un-installed from wherever it was, it will not work. find the units serial #, call Eclipse, IF it has Not been reported stolen, you can get the code reset by Eclipse. I think they charge for this service, however it's worth it. If there is a problem with the unit, it can be repaired by them as well. Most car deck repairs are under $ 150 unless it's really serious. Best of luck! Hope this helps

Infinity radio - display window not functioning

inside the radio is a miniature bulb that back-lights the display, this is true of all radio's, in fact they all use the same tiny bulb, these do burn out from time to time, u will need to remove the radio/CD unit and then pull the top cover off, inside just behind the display u will find a small twist in socket that contains the bulb, u can buy this bulb at any full service auto part's store for about $2

Error

The manual states
1. " An (ERR_) message will appear, then change to a flashing (DISC), then the CD will be ejected."
You will have 5 uninterrupted attempts to insert the correct CD.
2. After the 5th incorrect attempt, the display reads (HELP)
3. If (HELP) appears on the display, press button (6), then the (FUNC) button, and hold them for 5 seconds.
4. Press the (FUNC) button. You will have 5 more attempts to insert the correct disc.
IF AFTER 10 TRIES, AND IF THE CORRECT KEY CD HAS NOT BEEN INSERTED, THE DISPLAY READS (CALL 800); THE UNIT MUST THEN BE RETURNED TO ECLIPSE TO BE RESET. CONTACT ECLIPSE DEALER OR CALL (800) 233-2216.

Cd/stereo not working

Hi, The "sec" could probably stand for security lock. It is a feature to discourage car stereo theft but is prooving to be more of an owner's problem when battery dies or are replaced or simply when disconnected for maintenance or whatever. The sad part is you have to get in touch with the original dealer of the car who would probably ask you for registration papers, proof of ownership (deed of sale), VIN, make/model/serial number of the stereo and/or other documents. I know its a bit of inconvenience but there is not other way since they have to check a database and fill in so many data themselves. I just hope the dealer is friendly enough. Good luck and kind regards.
