Hi there,
Here is a few steps to clean the print head of your printer.
1. Make sure the CX5000 Series all-in-one is turned on but not printing, and the ink cartridges are not low or expended.
2. Right-click the printer icon on your taskbar (in the lower right corner of your screen). Select Head Cleaning.
3. Click Start or Next.
Cleaning takes several seconds. The CX5000 Series runs a head cleaning cycle and the On light flashes.
Caution:
Never turn off the CX5000 Series while head cleaning is in progress. You may damage it. 4. When the On light stops flashing, make sure paper is loaded in the CX5000 Series, then do the following:
Windows:
Click Print Nozzle Check Pattern. Then click Print.
5. If there are no gaps or lines, click Finish.
If there are still gaps or lines, or the test patterns are faint, click Clean to clean the print head again.
If you don’t see any improvement after cleaning three times, refer to Problems and Solutions. You can also turn the printer off and wait overnight. This lets any dried ink soften. Then try cleaning the print head again.
Tip:
If you do not use your CX5000 Series often, it is a good idea to print a few pages at least once a month to maintain good print quality.
Cleaning the Print HeadHope this initial / info idea helps.
I have installed software and "new" ink cartridges and both the red ink light and the on light are flashing in a flash, flash, pause pattern. I have received one error message "PrintOMatic Lite XL error, error type=24". I have uninstalled software and reinstalled it, when alignment page was suppose to print nothing happened. I tried to delete print job and it froze. The ink moniter shows all ink cartriges grayed out with a 'x' symbol over the black. There is something going on with the paper feed as well, at start up and shut down. I am running on 98se. Epson Stylus CX5000 is not supported by the SSC utility.
