I bought my all-in-one in Jan. 2007. It has been fine up until a week ago. It stopped printing and I got an error message. When I checked the cartridges, I saw a long piece of opaque plastic that had come loose and that was caught in the path of the cartridges.

Try opening the printer and checking for a paper jam.
It's also worth removing the toner cartridge and placing it back again, therefore forcing the printer to go through the diagnostic cycle again. Sometimes that solves the issue.

Problem is you use Works not Word at home. Trouble is, you don't know what version of Word your school has, but it sure doesn't have Works.. Open your document at home, click save as , then drop down to "Word 97-2000&6.0/95.RFT(*.doc). ".. chances are your school has one of these versions of Word. Resend to school, open and print.. Good luck.
I have Canon M560 printer installed 8 months ago. I replaced the CLI 221 Magenta and CLI221 Cyan ink cartridges, won't work and got this message Error 1411. Tried repeatedly to reinstall the ink cartridges and still have this message coming back. Any solution you could offer? I would appreciate it. Thank you.
