The light does not come on for toasting or oven setting.
Therefore, nothing is working. What is the problem? Is there an easy fix or is it time for a new one.
Thanks for your help.

I too have the same KCO223 countertop toaster oven, and the toast function is not working. All other functions work fine, but the blue light won't come on in the TOAST mode setting.
The problem is 4 capacitors on the small circuit boards inside. Three 220uf 16V and one 1uf 50v. These apprear to be going bad from internal heat drying them out and they fail. Symptoms include toast will not start when button pressed, or does start but then stops soon after. A buzz or hum heard when the Toast selection is made..(you should hear nothing until the start button is pressed) and the timer beeper no longer working. These are about $2 in parts, and easy for a good electronics person.
You probably have a switch in the oven that has failed or a broken wire. These are basically the only reason it wont come on. The best bet is if it is old buy a new one or see how much it would cost to repair. Usually the cost to repair is almost as much as the cost of a new one and getting parts can sometimes take two or more weeks.
remove the plastic side where the controls are . if you see a broken wire you might be able to repair it otherwise theres no parts made for it ,so no matter how simple the broken part is .....there is nothing that can be done about it ........ WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF "MADE IN CHINA"
I found that the heating element in the top front was burned off at the end. I removed the side cover and the ceramic insulator from the broken end. I then grabbed the broken end of the spring inside the glass tube and stretched it to where I could re-attach it to the connector. It now works after getting it back together. If you attempt this repair, UNPLUG THE OVEN FIRST! There is also a security screw at the bottom of the side cover.
I have same problem Took whole unit apart found upper bulb is connected with wire that goes through out. You hve to physically take bulb out through side without electronic panel wire is connected on panel sid with actual plug. but ended up cutting wire other side. Bulb is not like regular bulb you will have to hard wire one side of it. bulb is unseperable from wire. Still looking for replacement bulb. I sure miss my toaster I believe it will probably be chaper for me to buy new toaster vs replace bulb. The bulb is nothing like I have seen before.
