If the connection of the game controller is by USB, generally is nothing to do, just plug in. Configurations, if any, are done within the game software. I do not know your controller, but my X-Plane flight simulator works as described above.

I have the same stick, the throttles are actioned by the little levers in front of you at the bottom of the stick, I dont quite understand what you mean by level number...
all you have to do is configure them in the configuration panel of the flight simulator, I use same simulator for practice.
Make sure, that your Joystick is compatible with the version you are having problems with. If not, make sure that it's enabled in the configuration of MCFS. If none of those work, you will most likely have to purchase a more compatible Joystick.
just read minimum configuration for that game, and you build it for required configuration, or above that. ( i will go above) i dip pends how much money you are willing to spend. I am right now of making configuration for my little brother, and i am thinking to go with dual core - for processor ( intel will be the choice above 2.8 ghz) 4 ddr 2 g ram, and some graphic of 512 mb ram... nvidia or ati... still got to do more research.
