MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet toyour computer and then copy them to your MP3 player. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs tomp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and thencopy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable tothe MP3 player and the computer. You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.Click on this link for instruction on converting musicfiles to mp3 file format :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5798418-creating_transferring_mp3_music_files
Freezing up while playing songs Check and see if there is a boot file in any of the folders on the player use the Explorer to check Check both MTP and MSC modes and unhook your player Delete songs and Format (Helps with try to delete BAD TRACKS and folders that will not delete(Some ripped CD folders).. Go to my computer scroll to sansa or your MP3 player and open the music folder and open each sub folder and delete Songs manually then delete the folders them selfs then format a couple of times hope this works

HI... You wont be able to play any new format CDs on an old Fisher or any other older make . It 's the internal decoder logic that's needed. And older players dont have it. As far as top-loaders..Do a websearch . I dont know of any.

I had the same problem. I had formatted the player's drive using Windows explorer and the got this error: "File Format error" while trying to play any mp3 file.
I went to the command prompt. Deleted all files:
E:\> del *
Then I copied the MP3 files again in the T.sonic MP3 player. All MP3 files played fine after this.

My mustek seems to be able to play music files (wma/mp3) fine but i don't know how to play videos on it. I've used the converter that came on the CD with the mustek and I've also tried converting using various media converters.
