Question about HP Officejet 9110 All-In-One InkJet Printer
My officejet 9110 will not shut off. When I plug it in it will not shut off even when I hit the on/off button. The button stays lit until I pull the plug. Also, my computer is failing to find the printer. This should be plug and play on Windows xp. Last, the screen, when I plug the thing it reads only continuous dots like................. and continues until I pull the plug. HP is no help, they want a fee to do anything! Help me please!
Do this, Unplug the power plug. Then unplug the usb cable. Wait about 90 seconds. Plug the power cable back in but not the USB cable. See what happens. Turn it on if it doesn't come on. Are you using Vista? If it comes back to the continuous ******, then you might need to get a local service company (authorized on this machine) involved. Could be several things; bad printhead(s)(underneath the ink cartridges) , usb cable, printer driver problem (download latest driver for hp), firmware or board problem.

I tried to download the drivers from HP but they come in zip form and when I try to open them they say they are unzipped. After that nothing helps. I do not have the original disks as they were destroyed in a fire. HP has been no help as they want to charge for all their help. Any other place I can get drivers that are not zipped?
Am using Windows xp home.
