Hi, It takes just a few steps to program an RCA Universal Remote Control using the Automatic Code Search method. While there may be some trial and error, the pleasure of getting rid of several extra remote controls will far outweigh the hassle in getting it programmed. Instructions Steps 1. Turn on the component you want to program. 2. TwoPress and release the component button on your remote that corresponds to the component (TV, VCR, etc.) you want the remote to operate. The illuminated ON-OFF button will turn on and remain on. 3. ThreePress both the component and the ON-OFF buttons. The illuminated ON-OFF button will turn off, and then will come back on. 4. FourRelease both buttons after the ON-OFF button turns back on. The button should remain illuminated. 5. FivePress and release the PLAY button. If the component does not respond after five seconds, continue to press the PLAY button every five seconds until the component turns off. 6. SixPress and release the REVERSE button when the component turns off, then wait to see if the component turns on again. 7. SevenPress and release the STOP button to save the new code. more help http://157.254.235.130/public/RCR430.pdf all the best sreejith

Programming a remote

Programming a Living Solutions Universal Remote
  1. Step 1 Turn on the component you wish to sync to your universal remote--your television, DVD player, VCR or stereo.
  2. Step 2 Point the remote at the device you are programming and press the corresponding device button on the remote. These buttons are labeled "TV," "VCR", "DVD," etc. Hold the device button for three to five seconds.
  3. Step 3 Push the power button on the remote. This should turn on the device that you are syncing.
  4. Step 4 Push the "Channel Up" or "Channel Down" button on your remote gradually until the device that you are programming shuts off.
  5. Step 5 Press "OK" or "Enter" on the remote once the synced device turns off.
  6. Step 6 Press the device button for the component you just programmed, and hit the power button while pointing the remote at the component. If programmed correctly, the device should turn on, and you should be able to control it with your Living Solutions Universal Remote.
