Question about Toshiba SD-6915 Multi-disc DVD Player

1 Answer

Toshiba 5 disc DVD changer SD-6915SU (no audio)

We've had this player for approx 2 yrs, and it worked fine through the first 10 movies. After that, no audio. I have tried everything, including hard reset, with no luck. The disc plays fine, all the remote controls work, but there is no sound. Any advice? Thanks! John

I had a simular model with almost same problem several years ago. I use a high quality CD/DVD cleaning kit at first. That helped but didn't slove the issue completely. Then I opened it, saw how simple its put together. I blew it out really well with an "air can duster". Especiallly around the "read head" being carefull not to get the head too cold, it will crack. Then I re-soldered a few of the solder joints I could get to easily. What ever I did, did the trick. Soldering may have been excessive. Ended up giving it away when I got a new one. If you know how to solder its worth the try but try other steps one first.

I have an 11 year old Toshiba DVD player. The last 2 times I rented a disk I had problems. Everything seems to be fine through the previews. When the movie starts to play, the screen goes green. The audio...

This is usually an issue with the component cables running to the TV. Remove the cables and retry with different component cables. If this doesn't fix the issue, its a problem with the DVD player itself.

As far as DVD players go, you've done quite well keeping yours going for 11 years. A cheap DVD player at the local big box electronics store here costs about $30, definitely not breaking the bank getting a new one.

Maybe it is due to your awful video convert tool.
I recommend you have a trial of Video Download Studio,
The program can help you convert video to audio with high quality and fast speed.
Have a look from http://www.downloadvideos-convert.com/download-videos-music
Hope it can help you more or less!

If the audio is going into the television then you have to set the audio output to 2 channel. if you are using all the supplied speakers, then the audio output should be set to 5.1 /6 CH

Left a dvd movie in player overnight - now have no audio.

Did you double check the connections from the DVD player to the TV? Maybe something happened to the connection overnight. If that dosen't seem to be the issue then the only other thing I can think of is that the Audio Encoding chip inside the player must have gone bad. The problem now is that it would cost more to repair the audio encoding chip then replace the whole player.

Sorry I couldn't help any further.

DVD movies do not play

A blue screen means the TV is not receiving a video signal. Check all connections, then try another player, cable, etc. Also, check DVD and TV AV settings.
