I did try messing around with the color settings, the coverting settings, they all do affect the tv but does not seem to make the ziggy zaggy lines get worse or better. Is there anything else that I could do at home before I call in someone that charges me a lot of money just to look at the TV. One other thing is that it seems to have a lot of yellow color around the boarder of the tv. Please help!

Re:
You will need to replace or have replaced the two convergence amp IC's on the convergence board in this set. They are the STK-392-040 IC's and the original replacement numbers are available at MCM electronics. Go here to see.http://www.mcminone.com/search.asp?keyword=STK392-040&btnSubmit.x=16&btnSubmit.y=11&btnSubmit=GO
Or you can call PTS corp, as they have rebuilt complete convergence boards or can rebuild yours for you at 1-800-844-7871
Good Luck

Try messing around with your rgb wires that run from your tv to your wii. I had this problem once upon a time & mine were just loose. If that doesnt work, try picking up a set at best buy & giving them a whirl. If they work, great, if not, return em. Hope this helps.
Ur tv convergence are dead.U must know how to solders?Must replaced 2 STK convergence ICS,and some or all it resistors.Tries websites Tv repair World.com,Tvrepairkits.com to buy a convergence kit to repair it ur self. The shop will cost u $300-350 for parts and labors.
Usually temperature will not have a big affect but high humidity will. I would suspect the convergence amps have possibly developed loose solder joints from the move. They are mounted on heavy duty heat sinks that can move a lot and crack joints. Hard to say. Thanks for using fixya.
Probably just some color balance is of. Reset white to something different on the compaq. Try downloading nvidia-settings and see what happens when you mess with color balances. Mess around with some settings til it looks right, or see if you can reset the white balance to a different preset on the monitor's menu
If you can get the tv to display the blue blackground(usually happens when there is no antenna or cable feed to tv) check to see if the whole screen is a solid blue, if it shows discolored areas around the screen then you might have to "demag" the screen. See if you can rent a demad coil from a tv shop and with tv on turn the coil in circular movements all over the front of screen till blue is solid.good luck!
see if there is a "default" option, if not set everything back to the middle, if the colors are still off you sure its not the convergence?
most big screens allow you to change "color temperature" it's like a default adjustment for 3 different brightness levels.... ie...COOL, WARM picture will show obvious changes in brightness
your tv may have ben magnetized by the lightning strike.
tv's have an automatic degaussing circuit that demagnetizes
the pix tube when the set is turned on. this degaussing circuit
may not be working or magnetism may have been too strong for
the internal degaussing to correct.
contact local tv repair shop in your area see if they can manually degauss your set , it should be a min. service charge around $25.

Do not automatically think you need to go into the service menu. I bet you 100 to 1 that you pulled out a plug or a connector somewhere OR one is not seated into the plug all the way. If the set worked with color before you messed with it, there is not a problem in the service menu. The service menu is not the fix all thing. it is there to make fine alignments and adjustments, and as a matter of fact, messing with a service menu even with the service manual is very dangerous. I have seen peeps ruin TV sets by messing around with the service menu alignments. STAY out of these alignments. they are not going to fix a problem that all of a suddenly comes up. Repair the problem in the circuit first. Good Luck
Your deflection yoke (a coil around the neck of the picture tube) must have gotten turned.
Your can turn the picture upside down by rotating this coil.
If your set is in warranty, you should return it. When this "yoke" is adjusted the color is affected too. If you try this yourself you'd void the warranty and mess up your color.
