Monitor states No signal. this is a new computer, just today

Make sure you are connecting the monitor signal lead to the correct signal output on the rear of the machine. Some desktops have extra video out connectors when they have a graphics card fitted. If yours has a graphics card the display connector will be away from the back USB ,audio and keyboard ports and near to some silver pop out panels near the bottom of the tower.

I can see you do have two issues here.Let us first fix the DVi port. Please see follow the steps below.

1. Please check video configuration by looking it up on the PC control panel.
2. Please make sure you choose the both DVi and VGA port by simply placing "tick" on the box.

On your second issue. Please follow the steps below

1. The "blue screen" normally comes up if you a faulty VGA cable or the connection is somehow loose. Please check if it is properly plug-in.

2. If the problem continues,I would suggest please contact the manufacturer or the store where the

My Acer aspire ax1700 PC dsektop wont work and here are the steps I took: First one day it wouldn't power up - The power led would blink once the fan (power supply) would come on for a split second and...

Hi, I had the same inital problem as you, except I didn't put a new video card as I was please with the Onboard card performance that even has an HDMI port. Not sure if your problem is solved already, but in my working process, I first suspected the Power Supply, and I had everything out of the case but the Mother Board. When I tried to fire it up I was always getting "No signal" on the screen, not even a blink from the BIOS. I then put everything back in place, then after the HD started spinning of and Windows booting, the screen started coming on. I felt it was like if I needed Windows to have a clean booth to replace the video drivers and switch to the InBoard card. Hoping this of any help.

I have an acer AX1700 which boots up but does not give any signal to the monitor.all lights are on from the computer as well as the monitor but the monitor stays black. cables are plugged in...

Before you buy a new graphics card, please try the monitor on another computer. If it's works on another computer, you need to troubleshoot the your machine.

Bring another monitor to your computer and connect it, if it works, then there's no problem with your graphics card. Must be startup or interfaces problem.
(Note: do all the connections before you power on the computer and leave your monitor On before your switch on the computer.)
If another computer works on your computer, then replace with a new display cable (vga/hdmi/dvi which suits your monitor).
Do let me know after you are done all these.

Good luck.

I work with 2x193W LCD Monitors together. One is working fine, the other is now giving me the "No signal" screen. I have checked connections and pins. Everything seems alright. What am I missing?

Open you video cards control panel and check the display settings. Check to see if it is set to duel view or single display. You can also open your display settings for your computer. Under the settings tab choose which monitor is showing no signal and make sure it has a check mark on the box that says extend my windows desktop onto this monitor.

"no signal " on the screen

After half a day of tinkering around with my new Acer I fixed my problem, which I think is yours also. I connected it to my notebook, it read the signal 'D-Sub' or something like that, and after my notebook finished startup, it reverted to no signal. I tried it with my desktop and it worked just fine. The display will only show up on one output device. It worked fine on my desktop because I was unplugging my monitor in order to hook up the projector. Hooking the projector up to my notebook left the display panel still active and that was where it displayed. In case I'm not making sense, the solution is this: After setting everything up, hit Control+Alt+F1 to switch display from your screen to the projector. To switch back, hit Control+Alt+F3
