Typewriter turns on and boots but that is it. Wheel does not return to the left. It just stays to the right. Obviously cannot do anything. Thank you.

the lift of tape has a dull side and a bright side make sure the dull side is toward the paper then press and hold the code key and the = key to reset the typewriter also see page 6 in the owners manual

The print head might have accummulated a lot of paper bits you need to clear them with a needle or just submerge the tip in petrol or ether. Caution do not submerge if its made of plastic.

The typewriter has a spring at one spool to keep the correction ribbon taut. If that spring is broken or out of place, the ribbon will always get in the way of the wheel.
If both ribbons are correctly set tight between the wheel and the paper, the typewriter will reset the wheel at power-on.
Some models reset the wheel every time you close the cover. You can see and hear it if it does.
