Arky34 is correct. Headset is in pairing mode. This way you must do bluetooth search from your phone/pda. If you don't make it voluntary, otherwise headset will not connect neither stop flashing red/green.

Blinking red and green means the headset is in pairing mode and ready to be connected to your phone. This means it is either the first time you have paired the headset or you have depressed the volume +/- buttons simultaneously for more than 5 seconds. If your phone cannot find the headset, it may be a compatibility issue. Try pairing the headset with a friends phone, possibly a sony ericsson. Good luck.

Pairing

1) Make sure headset is off. 2) Press and hold the answer button until the light flashes green and red. 3) If it only flashes green, press and hold both volume buttons until the light lashes red and green. 4) It is now ready to pair: follow the instructions in the bluetooth menu of your phone. When asked for the passcode enter 0000. 5) All done.
