Indesit fridge freezer (2 years old) not getting cold

Hi I have a fridge freezer that is around 2 years old, the compressor runs but the appliance doesnt get colder (fridge or freezer ) I dont think we have accidently de gased it , I was going to change the thermostat but there seems little point when the compressor is clearly running ( +you can hear fluid in the system ) Id be grateful for any clues.. (Ps it is an upright indesit model not and Engel as described above.. Thankyou.

If compressor is running, then you are correct in saying no point in replacing stat. by sounds of it you have a faulty compressor fault or a syatem fault - impossible to dignose by remotely. this is not a diy job i'm afraid

Is your compressor running? Try this: place your hand on top the compressor, quickly-in case it's hot-it should be vibrating and cool/warm to the touch. If it's not running then the cheapest/fastest test is to try a 3in1 start kit from a local appliance shop. The 3 in 1 start should be around $14 to $20 to wire up. It's extremely simple to wire up, just ask the clerk at the appliance shop's parts counter and they will explain it. I hope this helps you out!!! :)

I have a samsung 1 year old fridge that wont get cold at all. the compressor, evap and condensor fans all run and i installed a schrader valve on low side to try to vacuum and charge with no luck. it

Compressor should rapidly bring pressure down from standing pressure to running pressure when switched on. If no change, compressor not pumping. Make sure the line tap valve isn't leaking, and the gas you used was correctly charged.

Fridge 14 yrs old. Unplugged for 2 yrs - now won't cool.

with the unit being that old , the compressor probably whent out the oils inside probably froze up ,,,,, to replace a compressor you are better off replacing the unit it is a major repair

hi is the fan motor going in the freezer. if so how long has it been plugged in if more than 24 hrs and the fan is going. it could be that because it sat for 10 years the lines that go inside could have rusted out. so if this is the case its scrap sorry. the appliance doc.

It should work the same as before. Does the compressor get really hot after running a while? If so it could be low on charge, or there could be a restriction inside the refrigeration system. Either way a professional would have to look at it.

I think you'll find the relay is there to start the pump by switching the mains to the shorter winding in the motor, hence three terminals. Once the pump is running the relay "drops out" and the motor runs on the longer winding. Check with a multimeter if the windings are intact. There's no Positive and Negative for AC operated devices i.e. it doesn't matter which way around the power (live and neutral or Hot and Cold) goes in but Earth or Ground MUST be correct. Dont kill yourself!!

I would first check to see if the evaporator in the freezer is all iced up. If it is thats whay you do not have any cooloing. And If that is the case you have a defrost problem and it is not short on gas. If you see only a few coils on the evaporator frosted up then you do have a leak in the system and my be covered under the manufactures warrenty.
