Question about Cuisinart BFP-703 SmartPower Duet Food Processor
If the blade is actually fused, I would seek professional help to avoid slicing your fingers off. You can test to see if it is fused by removing the lid of work bowl, twisitng work bowl to the left, and removing the work bowl - if work bowl will not come off (difficult even under normal circumstances), then find out from Cuisinart if you are still under warranty.

I phoned the 800 number at Cuisinart (800-243-8540) and the person who answered the phone explained to me what to do: Fill the bowl with the hottest tap water I have (but not boiling) above the entire blade (including the part that fits over the shaft). He said to pulse a few times, then try to pull it off, but not to expect it to work right away. He said to do this until it comes off and that it could take 1/2 hour. I did what he said, and the blade came off after the first pulses. But also, the water was pouring out all over the counter--leaking between the bowl and the base (possibly because my old work bowl is also cracked, but I'm not sure).
I was told that the problem would happen again, and that I needed replace the blade and the shaft (which is cracked, as he guessed), both of which are available from Cuisinart.

The steal chopping blade is stuck in the bowl and attached to the gear box. Will not move up or down. how do I get it out?
Corollary problem: stem is stuck to the gear box collar. I can use the slicer/shredder and remove the disk but I cannot use the food processor chopping blade because I cannot remove the stem. "Goo Gone" did not loosen the stem, nor did running the machine with just the stem but no disk.
