Question about Sanyo HT30744 TV

Dark screen/picture. My TV screen/picture faded to dark and the picture menu has no affect on brightness, color or contrast. I can see the picture but it is very dark.

This 30" flat screen TV set may have a problem in the high voltage circuit of the TV set. You may be able to adjust this by taking off the back of the TV set. Look for the block where the large red wire runs up to the top of the picture tube. On this block will be two controls. one will say screen and one will say focus. Try and slowly turn the control that says screen or S on it clockwise and see if you can make the picture brighter. Turn up the control till you just start to see faint lines in the picture, then back the control down till the lines go away. If the picture does not come up when you turn this up, and all you get is a blank screen, you will need to have this set repaired by a qualified repair person. Good Luck

Too dark
well...the contrast comes to mind first, and then the color temperature..it's all accessible from the menu, of course.

I'd start with contrast, and then look at the color temperature ratings..

Hi - I have a 42" Vizio and when the scene is dark (takes place at night or credits at the end of a film) the entire screen fades to dark. Help!
Used the tv original remote go into tv Menu goto PICTURE turn on more Backlight like +5 and like Contrast +30.The tv back ground should be alot brighter.

Sometimes pictures are too brigth or too dark also it just suddely fades away. it has to be dark in order to watch tv. i just cannot get right colors or a clear picture,

Adjusting color/ user mode??
The TV will not let you set brightness, contrast, color or tint in the preset modes like Vivid, Movie, Standard etc. Look for a mode that says custom, user etc..

DVI hookup is read as HDMI, so no sound! Hello, I am running Windows XP Home and I have a GeForce 9400 GT (more specs on it here: http://www.biostar-usa.com/app/en-us/vga/content.php?S_ID=89) hooked up to my Sanyo-HT30744 TV using a DVI to HDMI cable. The TV is supposed to use Component 3 audio input for sound on the HDMI channel when a DVI device is hooked up. When I uninstall the driver to my video card and/or when my PC is booting up and going through BIOS, the HDMI channel displays the notification that you must use the Component 3 input for sound, ext, and works like is should. When the driver is installed and when the boot process gets to the Blue Windows start screen the screen flickers then the TV thinks the HDMI has sound coming through even though it don?t. I have messed around with the TV and the NVIDA settings and everything and NOTHING. Is there any pins I can break off the DVI end to make it work or setting in the TVs service menu I can adjust or anything to make it take sound through the component 3 input
