Sony KV-27V55 Completely Dark

I was watching TV when it suddenly went dark, No sound, No Picture, No Power Indication. I unplugged it and and reset the power strip and when I plugged the TV back in it sparked at the outlet. The TV has a manufacture date of Feb 1995. I will assume the unit is just done but is there a fix that might be possible?

I have a KV-27V55 and when I turn the TV on the picture and sound is good for about 30 minutes and then the picture goes off, but the sound is still on. It will come back on after a while. What do I do?

video card went out in the tv. You are saying you need a schematic. Be real careful getting into tvs. They have very large capacitating capacitators in them that can electrocute you. You need to take it to a repair specialist and have them run a check on it. Sounds like the video card to me though.

Sony KV-27V55 skips channel 3. Of course I need that to get my cable signal. I was just given this set, with no remote. But using the channel buttons on the set, it skips over channel 3. Any ideas? Also, I can't get my Verizon remote programmed for this TV. I've tried codes 0027, 11217, 0128, 0013, 0002, 0071, 0380, and 0152. I also tried the brute force method of forwarding through 200 times, but still didn't get it. If I can fix the channel 3 problem, I'll probably buy another universal remote.
