Question about Panasonic SC-PM17 CD Shelf System
Hi, we have some loan disc's in the system and need to get them out, the cd player will not play, will not open, doesn't work on any of the CD buttons. i have opening the tary loading door and there doesn't seem to be anything jammed to stop the trays from moving. about a week ago, wife complained that she asked for disc 2, it played for a bit then stopped, sellecting again disc 2, it started to play the wrong disc, selecting disc 3, it played what should have been in disc 2. no one had moved the disc's from dc2 to dc3, so seems the system got confused? now we need to get the discs out - how to? would be ideal that we get the cd system playing and working again, but also super important to get the cd's out to reduce fines. thanks for any help!

All this cd systems have the same problem. If you're using burned cd's sometimes they don't work so you need to close the session after burning in your burning program. If you're using original cd's it means that the device needs to be cleaned up (especially the lens) because the structure of a 5 cd combo device gets very dusty after a while. Also from my experience after cleaning it put a cd in each deck (even if it's off) so they could prevent it getting dustier again. Hope it helps, good luck!!

If you turn it off at the mains, wait a few seconds then turn it back on. As soon as you turn the power on, try and press the button for the tray to open. If this dont work, you will have to open up your system and remove this disc yourself. Good luck.

SOURCE: CD's will not play
problem with the machine, it's either not reading the disk which would be a laser or the transverse motor or the mechanism isnt loading fully which could be a belt or a bad gear.
