Got exactly the same thing. Will have to try these altough not to happy going into the engineering menus.

With the other solution with the 0's and the colour buttons. Where do you enter this ? Is it when the TV is in standby or when it's on DTV mode ??

    Many thanks

I've tried the above but it dont work for me.... my tv just turns on with a blank screen then switches off by itself and turns back on again without going to the service menu.

dom6918 - when you say if you just want to reset freeview..0 0 0 0 then press the colour buttons in sequence.. Is this done with the TV switched off?

The info>menu>mute>power on takes you to the engineers menu.
(Start with the TV switched off)

Use the direction keys, down to RESET,

then the right direction key performs the reset, the TV switches off.

On power again, the setup sequence runs for both TV and DTV.

I had exactly the same problem as p111upr and this fixed it.

Phil.. to reset: Info>Menu>Mute>Power Button make sure tv is off to start with! messing around in here could void your warranty..it resets the tv to manufactures settings. if you just want to reset freeview.. 0 0 0 0 then press the colour buttons in sequence.. im having a much bigger problem..i think my freeview has blown on my LE46m87bdx..its only 1 month old..i turned it on and it went crazy..then no more channels..no signal..and i get a max bit error with 0 signal strengh..add to this with the fact that the screen goes crazy and resets on the DTV mode..ive got a service person coming round on the weekend! if it is blown..then ill have to do without freeview on the tv...im not letting him take away the tv...no no no no no!

Put set into standby then press in sequence (info) (menu) (mute) (power),
this puts set into service mode. Scroll to (RESET) and press right arrow.
You will see 'wait' message appear. After a few seconds set will go to standby.
Press power to bring set on and follow on-screen instructions. You
should now have everything working correctly.
NB. Do not alter any other settings whilst in service mode.

They can easily fix a simple DTVv board in home. remember if you access the service menu don't mess with any other settings, just use the reset function. many people get tempted to play with the hidden settings in that menu and can really screw the set.

Hi, I live in a flat in London with a shared rooftop aerial (no idea of spec). I have a Sony KDL-46X2000. The built-in freeview tuner doesn't seem to recieve any HD channels. Is the built-in tuner the...

Make sure you have a good connection from antenna to TV. Check antenna and cable and cable connection to TV. Select DIGITAL button on TV remote when wanting HD channels. Remember HD channels are always digital. Also, any given TV station may not be broadcasting in HD at a given time. They can broadcast in digital but in standard definition sometimes. Your TV has a built-in DVB-T tuner. Try executing a channel scan to pick up all available channels. On-screen menus go to Digital Setup, then Digital Tuning, you can auto-tune or manual tune channels. The TV should take a few min. to scan thru available channels and store the channels its finds. Check with anyone in your area to see if they get HD channels (it is possible to be outside of the range of some TV stations) Your TV is a 2006 model and should still be compatible with local digital TV broadcasts but keep in mind digital signals could change in the near future (DVB-T2) and you may need a tuner/converter box to make the TV compatible.

I Have a 15inch acoustic solution telly with built in freeview model number astv15id , however it has lost most of the freeview channels how do i retrieve them back.

Go into main menu set up and navigate to option to rescan. (might be called install or re-install stations)
Note - if it has lost channels it may be due to poor signal quality - check the quality of your aerial connections. You may also have lost channels if your area has recently been subject to 'digital switch-over' . Although they are already on digital tv all Freeview boxes will need re-tuning after switch over because this entails a change of some channel frequencies post analogue.

Im trying to tune in my old super nintendo my lcd tv that has built in freeveiw but i cant find the channel!

Has your freeview tv got a built in RF i.e (not a digital freeview) tuner? If it hasnt then you wont be able to tune it into your LCD TV by connecting it through your aerial socket. However I think you can get a cable so that you can plug the nintendo directly into a scart or rgb input. Something like this.

http://www.consoleplus.co.uk/product_info.php?pName=av-cable-for-gamecuben64-and-snes&osCsid=0d6106987e4b7a95fc32bf0d45a3b6d1

Then you can just switch to your scart or rgb source on your telly and play on your snes.

Wharfedale DVDR24HD250 DVD Recorder When set up will not find any programmes on Automatic Programme Search (APS)

Products such as this will use an internal tuner to tune channels, this tuner will not detect your televisions freeview stations, to record from your television, connect scart out from tv to the scart in on the recorder, then select the scart A/V channel, use the television to select the channel you want to record, you will not be able to record 1 freeview channel and watch another freeview chanel as you only have 1 digital tuner (in the television) the recorder does not have freeview built in.. hope that helps

Can't re patch tv with set top box to watch tv

Hi.

Ok here goes.

1) Take airial lead from the wall socket in to antenna in on freeview box.

2) connect short usually black airial type lead in to antenna out socket on freeview. plug the other end of this lead in to aerial in on vcr.

3) connect the other end of this aerial type lead to airial plug on the back of tv.

4) now if you have 2 or more scart sockets on the back of tv set plug in the scarts in this order.
Freeview box scart with tv on it connect to scart 1 on tv set.
Freeview box vcr scart connect to vcr in scart socket on vcr.
Vcr scart marked tv plug scart from here to scart 2 on tv
If you have 3 scart sockets on tv you can connect dvd using scart to scart socket 3 on tv.

If Tv has only 1 scart the aerial leads will stay the same as I have stated,
Freeview must go to scart socket on tv set.
leave second scart from freeview to vcr plugged in so you can record freeview by putting vcr to line 1 or AV 1.
you will need to put tv on channel (0) & tune this channel to the video play a tape that you recognise then go to tv tuning & tune tv untill you see video playing then store this on channel (0).
DO NOT USE AUTO TUNING IT WILL PUT CHANNELS IN THE WRONG ORDER JUST USE MANUAL TUNING.

Now to view Dvd you will either need to purchase A scart switch box. Or have keep unpluging freeview scart from tv so you can plug in dvd .

If your tv has red yellow white phono sockets you can plug dvd in to these, you may need to purchase phono leads.

Hope this helps.
