E250 Please free 6MB!!!

I've purchased my sansa e250 about a month ago. It's been alright because I barely ran into some problems with it. It does on rare occasions freeze up on me, but that hasn't been a big enough problem. Not too long ago, my screen went completely insane and it just kept resetting itself with the big "SANDISK(logo)". I couldn't even get to my songs or the menu itself. I've called the sandisk technical staff and they eventually helped me out with it, but afterwards when I hit the menu option, it comes up with this box saying: "Not enough space for MusicDB. Please Free 6MB" I've tried to reset the stupid thing, but my computer won't even recognize my mp3. Whenever I tried to reset it, it will tell me to switch my mode to MSC, which I did, but then it still comes up with the same stupid thing. I'm stuck and I don't know what else to do. Someone with a solution please help me.

Solution #1 : try HARD resetting it by holding the power button for 15 seconds. if not solution #2 : install and use this tool to repair your sansa. Its called the Sansa Connect Recovery Tool. You get on the sandisk website, you have a manual also . go to : http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1532

When turning on my sansa e250, the msg "Refresh Database" and "Not enough space for music DB. Please free 6MB" display on the screen. How do I do that?

Remove the microSD card, then connect the player to your computer and delete stuff from its internal memory until you have 6MB free.

Not enough space?

Format the player from the Sansa itself - directions are in the manual - and reload songs onto the player.

Deleted all my songs, and talks about freeing 6MB?

Reset your player back to normal. Note that this will delete all files you have on your player, but it resets the player as if you just bought it. To do a safe reset, please make sure that your player is only a Sansa E250, not Sansa E250R. Here is the link that resets your player back to normal. http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/board/message?board.id=smc&thread.id=755
If you understand it carefully, you will have no problems. I recommend you read it one by one so that your player doesn't get bricked (kind of un-repairable) because the steps you followed were wrong.

No music

clear 6 mb, it needs at least 6 megabytes on the thing to create the list of playable music on it.

Sansa e250

make sure the mode of the player is in MTP or if you have a version 2 player the default mode is MTP. If you are receiving an error about "Not Enough Space for Music DB please free 6mb" when turning on the player. Format the player using windows explorer and the mode should be in MSC.

My sansa is messed up

It is referring to the "database", or the menus on the device. (i.e. - songs titles, music, artists) It needs at least 6MB of free space on the device to create this. If you freed up what you think is 6MB, it may not be enough. Even though you have a 2GB player, there is only 1.85 of usable space on it. So try deleting some more tracks. If not, format the device and start over. Right click on the device in My Computer and select format. Best of Luck.
