Icemaker will not disppense ice on my Samsung RS2534ww
I have a Samsung Side by Side Refrigerator that was manufactured 2004. The model is RS2534WW.
My problem is with the icemaker. It makes ice just fine and dumps it into the ice bin. My problem is that it will not dispense ice into a glass. I do not hear any motor turning or anything.
I try to unplug it and plug it back in with no luck. The frig was sitting in storage for a few months. When I plug it in, I could hear the flap in the door panel for the ice chute to close. However, when I place a glass again the ice release button nothing happens and the chute remains open unless I unplug the frig and plug it back in.
Can anyone help?

Re: Icemaker will not disppense ice on my Samsung...
SOUNDS TO ME THE TRANSPORT AUGER MOTOR NEEDS REPLACEMENT. JUST MAKE SURE THAT ON THE CONTROL PANEL, THE CHILD INTERLOCK IS NOT ON WHICH STOPS ICE DISPENSING OPERATION. JUST DONE ONE NOW WITH THE EXACT FAULT.

Could be blocked up in the shute. remove all ice from the freezer and check that the ice shute (leading to the dispenser outlet) is clear. Let the freezer create a batch of ice (normally about 4 to 5 hours) and see if it dispenses then. If not , it could be a failed auger motor. That is the main corkscrew looking drive which pulls the ice into the shute. Check the icemaker in the freezer, and look for a button on the side or underneath the icemaker. Most manufacturers put one there to test the icemaker. Press the icemaker ice dispenser button and see or hear if the auger is turning.
Regarding Samsung refrigerator model rs2534ww/xaa repair: Basic trouble-shooting from Fixya was helpful, but solution required service call from repairman. (Very few repairmen work on Samsung at this time.) We thought problem was the digital controller, but turned-out was ice maker (!). Repairman explained Samsung has wierd control design that is based upon ice maker sensor. Sensor alone cannot be replaced, required entire icer, which he had in the truck. Icer cost $105 retail ($86 online), but controller would have been $161 retail (couldn't find controller online). Hint: if control panel is "dead" except for (only) the upper (horizontal) LED segment of the right-most refrigerator temperature digit, the problem might be your ice-maker. If you find the ice maker online and can install it yourself, you can save at least $130.
OK the reason the Ice isn't dropping is that the element under the icecube tray isn't working. You'll need a new Ice tray with element I'd be guessing, but see how you can buy it. Some models you need a whole new ice maker. Cheers
Try turning off the unit. Then leave both doors open for 48hrs to defrost it 100%. Now try moving the icemaker bar as there may be ice in side freezing it solid. If not I'd say it's time for a new ice maker Cheers
I read elsewhere that if you hold the power cool and power freeze buttons down for 12 seconds it will restart the system. I did it the other day (because we were having the same issues) and it has seemed to work for the last few weeks. Frige temp stays at 34F and freezer temp stays at -2F
