Samsung HT-Z310 tries to load disc, but never does

I put a dvd in tray and the unit continues to read "loading". The player never loads the disc. I have tried the reset option, but it does not work.

I have the same problem. I called samsung and they told me to try and clean the lens with a typical lens cleaner sold in stores. I still haven't tryed it but I think if it was the lens, it would say disc error. When i get close the player, it sounds like it spins the disc, and then stops. It does this over and over.

Here is my emaill [email protected]

keep me posted plz. I would try the lens cleaner and let you know.

I belive the same thing happened to me when I inserted a dirty disc, only i found that out after it wouldn't play... Now it never reads DVD or CD, it starts to spin, but stops again. Over and over again. I bought it barely a week ago, so I am turning it back in to get it either fixed or replaced by the store.

I've had a similar problem where the disc continues spinning in the "loading" mode and then finally goes to "disc error." So, I opened the cover of the player, and noticed that the disc was not spinning as fast as I expected, and there was an extra unpleasant sound when the disc was spinning. Thus, I suspected there was an issue in the drive motor system: either the motor drive board, the motor itself, or the contact to the disc. I saw that there was dust accumulated on the rubber contacts to the disc, so I cleaned them with a q-tip. I then resetted the system, and the disc was the spinning normally again, and everything worked like before! (Other things I have tried in the past were cleaning the lens and updating the firmware, none of which worked) I hope this helps!

Hi all.

Normally the optical eye becomes discoloured from general dirt thats been sucked into the unit by the air circulation fan.
One solution, clean the optical eye with a lint free cotton bud using a electronic cleaning solvent.
Now if this dose not resolve the problem, replace the DVD mechanism.
I found it at: @http://www.sparedparts.com/products/details/samsung_dvd_deck_assembly_-_deck-sdm-d1fl_basic_type_cms-s7_ah97-01831a/

£30 cheaper than most sellers.
Good luck.

Hi everybody..! i am a proudly owner of SAMSUNG tech products :
first: i am a computer technician ,along 20 years experience ,and a lover of fixing electronics:
about this issue : dont loose your time: you need to check the electric motor which is responsible to spinning the disc..! (it is stuck..!) ,,you need to do cleaning inside, in my case I only loosen the tabs that hold the bottom of the electric motor, with a special hammer, very small, hit repeatedly until the engine getting off the dirt, this happens due to the regular use .You do not even need to disassemble the engine.then you will see how fast it is spinning.!...as a plus you can do a lubrication of the tray..regards..!

I've had the same problem and after trying to fix it with all that i've read here and not succeeding,i decided to open the system and see if anything looked out of place, there was a white tape that had slipped out of place that caused the disc error message to keep popping up.

I Have had the same prob, I recon samsung have used a cheap nasty motor for the CD spindle drive. All works fine when the unit has been switched off and is cold. But when it warms up 15-20 mins the pic starts jumping. I have had the top off and the CD spindle speed gets slower and slower unit it displays disc err. I have bought a brand new CD drive from Sparedparts.com for £22.50 if it works with the new unit ive save £200+ for a new system Worth the gamble I think Hope this helps.

I have an HT-DS1000 I bought used. The FM tuner works, the CD player works ok, but it will not read DVD's at all. It just continually says "loading." I hooked up an alternate DVD player...

Optical pick up out of tolerance. If you take disc out it should stop clicking. The clicking is the optical pick up lens hitting max extension due to focus not being achieved

Dvd player reads no disc and than shows loading

Have you tried other DVD's...you might have a bad one.

If so,,,you may need to clean the laser diode. You'll need cottonless swabs (no lint swabs) and Isopropyl alcohol 99%.

Might be hard to get to, depending on the model, but gently swab the diode lens. Don't saturate it tho.

good luck

I put a disc in but the DVD player continues to stay Loading. It won't show any picture on the tv screen and when you try to select a DVD # it continues to say Loading and shows HD480.

Sounds like the optical drive on your Samsug has gone bad, or is dirty. Have you tried any DVD cleaners. Circuit City and Best Buy carry good ones for under 20bucks. If the cleaning doesn't work then I suggest having the unit serviced.

Dvd do not loads

Our started doing the same thing about a week after the warranty ran out. It has to do with the alignment of the discs being loaded. here's a work-around that works for us:
Open the tray
Choose which disc you are going to watch and use the Change Disc button to push the selected disc to the back (ie, if you want to view Disc 1, discs 3 and 4 will be visible in the tray).
Look down the center holes of discs 3 and 4... manually move your tray left-or-right to align the holes with the tray.
Push the Direct Play button on the top right of the unit for your disc of choice (Disc 1 using the example above).

hope that helps... I've searched for a while and played around with the unit (with and without the cover on) trying to figure out a way to re-align the tray, but no luck.

When a disc is loaded, it reads "no disc".

Okay, so I had this problem a few days ago and started watching movies on my X-box 360. Then my X-Box came up with the same error as my DVD player. After reading countless reviews and e-mailing Samsung, I read somewhere that someone had pummeled their X-Box until it adjusted the laser back.

So, I pummeled my DVD and X-Box into oblivion and oddly enough both of them are working. Don't go crazy smacking it but give it some sturdy hits right above the CD tray as you are putting CD's in and opening the tray. Worked for me and hope it helps...

Hi i need the hack code for my region 1 Samsung HTZ310 dvd player. Anyone can help please?

My brother got this one as part of a deal and I hunted around and found that most if not all HT variants have the same region free hack:

1. Remove disc from tray.
2. Switch off player and unplug from mains.
3. Wait 30 seconds, then reconnect mains.
4. Turn on player with remote. Wait for player to finish loading and display 'no disc'.
5. Press enter on remote. (There will be no on-screen response.)
6. Press 8, 4, 2, 6, 9 on the remote. (There will be no on-screen response.)
7. Press enter on the remote. Player will automatically shut off.
8. Turn player on.
9. turn off.
10. Turn player off then on again.
11. Player is now region-free.

Did this on a Samsung HT-Z310 and other than I think maybe the tray not opening when it said it worked fine and the player is now region free.
