I plug the white, yellow and red cables from the dvd player into the back of the tv but it says "no signal". I changed the input to Component 1 then I tried the other plugs too but still get the...

Hello
If you have connected the red, white, and yello video cable connection right correct to the respective pins; both at DVD and TV end, by selecting the input to Video-1 or Video-2, you must get the logo of the DVD player on the TV screen. Please not that whether you have 'Power ON' the DVD player. If the connections are good, the logo must be ther. Otherwise check the continuity of the RCA cable, of it may have damaged[shorted]. Try replace with an other cable. OK.

Sony Bravia 40'' LCD 240Hz TV can't get video signal from DVD

Are you absolutely sure you have it wired up right? Are the Cable RIGHT wires color to color, is the "Correct Input" selected? Remember you do NOT use "Channels" but an AV, AUX, or External.input. Most DVD etc, use AV, IE: Yellow, (Video), Red, (Audio), White (Audio) for the OUT connections. These go color to color at TV end. And uses 3 Cables. The "Other" type of Output/Input is Component Video. This is ALL Video, Red, Blue, Green, these go color to color as well. BUT you MUST also send the Sound, Via the AV, IE: The Red & White, AV, Audio IN/OUT connections, So you in this case would have 5 cables/connections in all.

DVD player won't work on my 27gt615

alexa,

good day, if youre saying that you program the DVD to work on channel 2 or 4 does it mean you convert the signal of your dvd player from A/V output to RF out?

because the simpliest way to connect your DVD player to TV screen is by using RCA cable ( 3 wired cable being color marked as yellow/red/white) yellow = video red and white = audio

the connection would be: from dvd back part you'll see colored socket yello/red and white. connect the RCA to those socket following the same color .

and from the TV screen there should be A/V input socket. can be locate at the BACK/Side or FRONT of the screen marked as
"INPUT" ( AV1, AV2,AV3 if multiple inputs). Then select which input you want to place your DVD player ex.AV1 (from AV1 there will be 3 scoket in a row, yellow/red/white)

Connect the other end of your RCA cable following the same color code to TV "AV1 INPUT" yellow = yello/red =red/white=white. then from the remote commander of your TV screen locate a button marked as "TV/AV" or "A/V" press this button until the screen display switch to AV1.

cheers,
mark

How do i plug a game conlone to a direct tv box?

skate,

are you reffering to a game console connecting direct to a TV screen?

1st try to check if your TV screen have a terminal jack indicating "A/V INPUT" A/V stands for Audio/video. if the screen doesn't have this, you'll be needing A/V to RF converter

2nd if your screen does have a terminal jack indicating A/V INPUT the next step you need to do is: check your game consul cable it should have a 3 RCA cable having RED/WHITE and yellow marking.

RED and WHITE cable marking stands for "AUDIO"
YELLOW cable marking stannds for "VIDEO"

connect this cable to A/V input of your screen following the color code ( yellow to yello/ red to red/ white to white) then from the screen press a button indicating "A/V" or "INPUT"

cheers,
mark

How do i connect my dvd player?

It depends on what outputs your DVD player has and what inputs your TV has.
If your DVD player has HDMI outputs and your TV has a HDMI input then you will need to purchase a HDMI cable and connect the 2.
If either your DVD or TV does not have HDMI then you will need to move on to either a component video cable which has 3 cables on the end which are colored red, blue and green. You will also need to connect for audio which is a cable with 2 colors, red and white.
There are also s-video and the regular old way of connecting which is a 3 cable design which has a yellow end for video and a white and red end for audio.

If you need any more help or can offer more info on what connections your TV and DVD player have then I would be happy to help.

I am hooking up a dvd player with the black and white wires

The most basic hook up you can do is use a composite AV cable(yello/red/white). This cable should have come with your player. Check your TV it has those available inputs. They are also color coded. On the back of your player, there is only one yellow colored jack so there should be no problem in identifying where to plug the composite video cable(yellow). Put the composite audio cables (red and white) to the DVD player Audio Out jacks (red and white). Then plug the other end of those cables on the back of your TV. Just make sure they are INPUTS on the TV and colored the same - yello/red/white.

Then find your TV's correct viewing channel. It is not channle 3 or 4. Depending on the TV brand, it may be called AV, INPUT, VIDEO, GAME, SOURCE, AUX, EXT., etc. To find that channel, you may need to check the instructions on your TV manual. Most of the time, there are buttons on the TV remote control or on the TV itself. Sometimes, you need to go into the TV Menu.
