With the Honeywell he220, you will use alot of water, trying to turn down the water will only reduce your amount of humidity in the home, you may be able to adjust it a little but you need to take the cover off and reduce the water flow a little at a time watching the water as it flows across the pad, you just have to make sure the humidifier pad is getting plenty of water across it, to little and you lose your humidification, hope that was helpful to ya, thanks for your question,

There should be a valve that the 1/4in water line is hooked too, it is hooked to your cold water supply line, you will need to turn the valve a little bit at a time, until the desired amount of water is reached,

I have a Honeywell HE240. I purchased a 1/4" pressure T valve from Menards for $6.00, cut the 1/4" water line and inserted the T valve in the line then turned the valve to a trickle. It works great. I've used these valves on other problem solving issues so be mindful of oxidation and sometimes they like to stick. There are also 1/4" pvc pressure fitting ball valves that will do the same thing.

I created a simple hack to slow the amount of water flowing through my Honeywell HE250 whole house humidifier. I took a toilet bowl refill tube clip [google it and you'll know what that is] and stuck it onto the internal plastic water line running inside the humidifier. Just like in a toilet bowl, you can cinch that clip way down to slow the amount of water flowing through a plastic water line . Tada! I now have a much slower rate of water flowing through to the humidifier pad--and less wasted water going down the drain. Works great.

My aprilaire mod. 300 seems to release an excess amount of water through the drain tube. it waste a lot of water.is there a fix?

This is typical especially if there is not much air flow across the humidifier. Make sure the fan is running in the humidiifier and the core does not need to be replaced. Sometimes I have had to turn the water valve back a little to cause less water to go through to conserve that wasted water.

I have a Honeywell humidfier HE 220A with a KIP U147112 valve. Will turning the large screw head on the valve decrease the volume of water flow through the humidifier. Too much water is being wasted.

Humidifier Water antibaterial additive

Hello. Humidifier water tanks must be regularly disinfected to remove the presence of bacteria and reduce the risk of mold spores. Carefully remove the screw-on cap, fill with cool water and add a tablespoon of household bleach to the water. Replace the cap and set aside for 20 minutes. Once done, empty the water tank, rinse thoroughly with clear cool water, and wipe the outside with a soft damp cloth and you are good to go. Do this once per week. Regards, Joe

Chronotherm Three thermostat vs Buderus Logamatic Computer.

The outdoor thermostat senses the the temp of the outside air, and adjust the boiler water temp according to what it knows is best. The reason that the boiler is running longer is the old boiler used to be constantly sending 180ish degree water to the baseboard, now that water may only be 140ish degrees. The idea behind this is to reduce off cycle heat loss, as the greater the temp difference between the air temp and water temp, the quicker you loss heat. The theory in boiler run time is this, the less times it starts and stops, and the long run times will give you the best efficiency. Hope this answers you questions.

Too much water wasted

The oriface is sized for the proper water flow for the model you purchased. If you are dissatisfied you could throttle down on the saddle valve to restrict the water flow to the unit.

Too much water

The humidifier is designed the use a specific amount of water. Slowing it down can reduce its efficiency. It can also allow mineral deposits to build up faster.
If you must slow down the water. Simply close down the saddle valve slowly untill you reach your desired amount.
Good luck

Honeywell Envirocaire Whole House humidifier not elevating humdity in home. Installed sev. years ago by HVAC contractor. Can't get the humid. above 30% no matter how high I turn it up. It is fed by hot...

This may not be a solution, but a couple things you might want to look at. First, the humidifier may not be big enough for your house - just because a contractor installed it doesn't mean he sized it right. Second, humidity may only be 30% locally by the humidistat, but higher in other parts of the house - it depends where the humidistat is located. Finally, look at your hot water line - I'm surprised he ran it off hot water and not cold - seems like a waste of energy to me, but the feed line may be clogged by sediment from the water heater
