Question about Acer AC 713 17" CRT Monitor

1 Answer

Flashing monitor hi all, i have an ACER AC713 (17") monitor which has been functioning satisfactorily for the last 3 years. but today when i switched on the PC, the monitor started flashing the images with time period of 1-2 s. i then removed the two speakers which were kept near it. although the flashing continued for some more time, the picture eventually stabilised after about 20 minutes or so. my ram had gone bad yesterday and had to replace it. so im woried whether the present problem is also related to some circuitry or power module. kindly advise.

The ram itself is not related to your problem, but check the VGA lead connections at both ends and see if the connection is loose and also check the power cable. Other than that it may be the monitor circuitry or CRT itself thats the problem and after warming up the problem goes away, so a repair may be needed or a replacement monitor.

How to program the time Warner remote

hi,
To manually set up the remote to operate a device, find the manufacturer code of the device in the list of manufacturers' codes. The codes are logically grouped by device type in section 12. Once you find the code, performe the following:

1. Press and hold the device key until all device keys begin to flash (approximately 3 seconds). Release the key. The selected device key will continue to flash.

2. Enter the four digit code for the desired device using the number keys. After pressing the first digit, the device key whould light and remain on. After the last digit is pressed the device key should flash three times and

3. Test the code by trying various functions. If the primary function keys fail to respond satisfactorily try the next code listed for the manufacturer.

If its didn't work go to the bellow added link. Select you remote. then add you device and its brand to know its code and programming procedure

Acer monitor will not start, power button flashes

hi Samuel.
this is all i could find from the internet.
You can try a power reset to see if that helps. To do a power reset, unplug the power cable and press and hold the power key for 10 seconds. Then, release the power key and plug the monitor in and attempt to use it. If you are still unable to get a proper display, We would suggest contacting technical support to inquire about warranty repair options. Many of our monitors carry a 3 year warranty, so there is a chance you may still have warranty left.

tad older post but not too old, and ignored.
it's an old monitor lucky you it works at all,
after all most are dead now, 99%
15 years old today.
if the OSD is dead under 10second from, power on
the Montors CCFL tubes are dead.
the fail these ways
1: dead for ever.
2: work intermitantly (you)
3:Strobes.(means flashing like in a DISCO)
4: only 1/2 screen dead, (2 tube displays)
5; turn yellow, for white
6: dim, for ver.

never seen any 15 year old CCFL screens good.
not me unless parked on self for 10 years.
the clue is on last page, in your manual, the word "
mercury Hg toxic, it's there, means CCLF tubes here)
the cure is 2010 or newer monitors with LED back lamps
do that now, end the pain of #1 soon to happen.

It's probally the inverter board that drives the backlight in your monitor is failing causing the digital board to reset. I think Acer has a 3 yr warranty. If the monitor is less than 3 years, I would call them and ask them to repair it. They will fix it for free if it less than 3 yrs old, it will only cost to you is shipping it to TX. Hope this helps.

Faulty monitor after one year

Hi Shirley,

In Singapore, Acer monitor is 3 years warranty.

If the your monitor is out-of-warranty, please consider replacing. It is cheaper than repair.

Performance life is normally around 2.5 yrs ++. Normal faults is due to manufacturing defects.
