Question about Gaggia Titanium Espresso Machine

Machine won't power up after 3 days holiday!

Hi. I've had my Titanium for 2 faultless years. I powered off the machine using the mains switch for a three day holiday and when on my return switched on again the machine started in 'Energy Saving' mode and would not respond to the menu/OK button. So I powered off again and the problem is worse - just a row of lit squares in the display, and completely unresponsive to any button combination I've tried. Does anyone know of a factory reset? Any ideas?

need to know if there is a factory reset

Same issue except I've seen this before a week ago. Appears to be a power supply issue, I'm guessing capacitors have dried out in power unit. Will investigate if I get chance ...

Same MO, display flickers and machine unresponsive when switched on. Flickered and tried to do it's "self test" failed and display eventually flickered and faded to appear off.

This problem seems to be more electrical device failure as opposed to micro controller confusion. I would look for a failed power supply component, possibly an overheated resistor that has changed value and caused power loss. Look for a browned-out area on a circuit board.

I have the same problem with the LCD showing Energy saving only, I push the menu button it jumps to self test then straight back to Energy Saving. I've opened the machine up, looked everywhere for a sign of overheating. It all looked good. I found some soot on a wire and followed it only to find the connections where clean. Anyone know how to reset the unit?

Why wont it switch on?

Check the 2-pole circuit breaker on the left side. You have to remove the back by removing 2 screws. Use a multimeter, test for continuity over both poles.

My ~8 year old Gaggia Titanium Plus was dead one morning.
I checked the circuit breaker and one of the two poles were bad.
I replaced the C.B. and all was fine :-)

Please follow the steps below to hard reset the printer and let me know the result.

1.Remove all the cables from the printer.

2.Wait for 10 mins.

3.Connect only the power cord and try to power on the printer.

4.If the problem is solved, then connect all other cables, otherwise let me know.

I just bought a Janome 9700 and I was wondering what kind of needles work best. I have hear that the Organ Titanium are really good. What are your thoughts? Thanks!

I've been sewing for over 30 years, I used organ needle before, but not the organ titanium, you said you just bought the machine, did it come with a instruction manual? if it did then it should tell which needle to use.
I have 2 necchi sewing machine & one babylock serger & I use SCHMETZ universal needle on all my machine, I never had any problems sewing with them, I make clothes & quilts & even upholstery some.
happy sewing

Hi whisky_zulu,

I see that you have basically done everything possible on the machine still to no avail.

Basing from what you've done still the issue is the same it shows that the motherboard on the machine needs to be replaced.

no beep codes as you mentioned indicates that the motherboard does not respond at all there maybe power but you also mentioned that it also shuts down once turned on for a couple of seconds.

replacing the systems motherboard will be the only solution to this issue.

I hope that this makes it clear regarding your query.

Have a nice day,

Dregdrawer Full

I read somewhere that there is a counter in the machine that when a certain amount of shots are done, the counter will reach its limit and tell you to empty the drawer, even if it's not full.

When I get the message I open the door, remove the drawer and it goes away once you replace it. Don't know why the machine would stop working though?

Might be stuck in hibernation. Pull the battery and ac power for about 1 hour. Replace and try to boot. If fails, pull the battery and try to boot just off ac power.
