Camera is not recognizing any memory card. The issue is with the camera electronics and not the cards.

Turn on camera and system error screen comes up and you cannot do anything to camera.

1st you need to update the firmware to 1.3u
download firmware here
http://ca.konicaminolta.com/support/americas/digital_cameras/dimage-z/dimage-z3/software_drivers/index.html (this allows 2GB cards)
instructions are here
http://ca.konicaminolta.com/support/americas/digital_cameras/dimage-z/dimage-z3/software_drivers/firmware/installation_guide.html
(instructions are a little vague on where macro mode button *flower button* is)
Also, you might have a bad SD memory card. format the card (erasing all data/pics on card)
and take some picks and try again.. if you can
If still a system error try a different SD card to get past error then update firmware with THAT SD card.
IF that don't work.... your hosed... ;(

I keep getting the error msg memory card cannont be read

Your camera is only supporting: SD/MMC up to 1 Gigabyte

The card that you currently have might be high speed. All should be sorted if you change the SD card to the supported MMC SD card up to 1G. There is a lever on the SD card this one might need to be changed.

The card that you currently have might be faulty. Please try another card.
You might also need to switch the camera over to saving pictures directly onto the SD card.1: Menu, Cam settings, Chose AUTO or SD card option Press OK

Note: If the SD card isn't in the camera or is unreadable the camera will automatically go back to saving you taken pictures on the internal memory.

When I try to load pictures to mini sd from laptop I have no problems but when I try from desktop it says you must format card but it will erase all saved info

your card is corrupted so te system cant open so protect your card from virus. the only way to save your pics is to put the card on ur phone then transfer to another phone or to comp using a bluetooth device.next time please maintain ur card use it slowly.

CANNOT DOWNLOAD PICTURES TO MY PC FROM MY CAMERA

there might be a problem with your cord/cable (a cord/cable that will enable you to connect your cam to PC).pls try to connect the cable firmly if still does not work pls try to get your memory card from your cam and put it in a card reader. That way you may be able to download pics from your cam to your PC.

NOTE: some card readers may need an adapter to be fitted in an SD size card for example i have an micro SD memory card i will need an adapter to fit the micro SD to SD.like this picture

ef0e117.jpg youll be needing this to insert it in a card reader
this is an example of an ordinary card reader

6f138cf.jpg
this is an example of a universal card reader

a4bb106.jpg use these following devices and you will be able to download pics from your cam to PC.
i hope i was able to help you! good luck!

Ativa memory card

The card is probably formatted with a FAT16 filesystem. Try reformatting the card with a FAT32 filesystem.

Message: Memory Card Error - Memory Card Parameter Error on 4gb SDHC card

I recently bought a DMC-TZ3 and have been researching memory cards. Several sites sell cards with the camera and list the card type. I would suggest buying one of these cards. Any cards larger than 2gb must be SDHC type SD cards. There appear to different types of SDHC cards, 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0. Check out Wikipedia.org for a description. 2.0 cards are not compatable for devices developed prior to 2.0 so that may be the reason for the camera problem. So far I haven't seen anything that states what type SDHC card the camera requires. I found a computer memory site that that sells memory that they say will work. There may be others.
