Question about KitchenAid Superba Architect KSCS25IN Side by Side Refrigerator
I notice a sizzle sound in my side-by-side (freezer part) tonight. I removed the bottom drawer and heard the sound coming from behind the louvers in the back. Saw slow drip of water sometimes hitting something hot and heard the sizzle sound. Haven't had any problems before - no icing up. Did notice tonight that there was a slight amount of water (less than 1 oz) on the floor on the freezer side. Any ideas as to cause and recommendations on how to fix? Thanks, bob
The sizzling noise is water hitting the defrost elememt and this is normal - shows the defrost system is working. if water comes on the floor of the freezer, this may be the drain for the defrost water is blocked. remove the freexer back panel and the drain is in the tray where the defrost water is caught. if it is blocked - usually with ice - clear it with hot water and make sure the water drains freely. takes some patience and maybe several attempts
