Falling water hits something hot in freezer and causes sizzle sound

I notice a sizzle sound in my side-by-side (freezer part) tonight. I removed the bottom drawer and heard the sound coming from behind the louvers in the back. Saw slow drip of water sometimes hitting something hot and heard the sizzle sound. Haven't had any problems before - no icing up. Did notice tonight that there was a slight amount of water (less than 1 oz) on the floor on the freezer side. Any ideas as to cause and recommendations on how to fix? Thanks, bob

The sizzling noise is water hitting the defrost elememt and this is normal - shows the defrost system is working. if water comes on the floor of the freezer, this may be the drain for the defrost water is blocked. remove the freexer back panel and the drain is in the tray where the defrost water is caught. if it is blocked - usually with ice - clear it with hot water and make sure the water drains freely. takes some patience and maybe several attempts

I have a kitchenaid refrigerator with single door on top and pull out freezer drawer on bottom. When I open the refrigerator door it will swing all the way open and hit the counter top . How do adjust it...

It sounds like your refrigerator is out of level in the direstion of your door hinge. Under the front side, in behind the louver at the bottom will be two adjusting screws. Either raise on the hinge side or lower on the non hinge side. Or both. this should get the door to the point you should be able to let it loose and the door should, from any position, shut by itself.
Hope this helps.

If you are sure the sound is coming from the freezer side, then yes you should empty the frrezer and take off the rear shield. While the heating element is normally encased in glass or plastic. Water droplets hitting an electrical connection could also cause a sizzling sound.

Is it flashing vacuum condenser? Ice behind the crisper drawer shouldn't effect the temp. What is it set at? You can go to www.subzerospecialists.com and click on Tech Help for additional info.

Fridge not staying cold

Inside the fresh food compartment there is a defrost timer hidden behind the temp control panel. Sometimes there is a plastic plug over the hole that you need to put a flathead screwdriver in and slowly turn it clockwise. When compressor stops I want you to wait about 25 minutes to see if the refrigerator comes back on by itself without help. If it does I need you to listen inside the freezer compartment for sa sound of crackling or sizzling noise indicating defrost is taking place. Let me know, Sea Breeze

pants, don't worry about this, your refer was going into defrost. When this happens, the defrost heater turns on to melt the ice off the evaporator in the freezer comp. Last's about 20 minutes and sometimes you can see the glow and hear the ice hitting the heater...Catriver.
