Hoover easy logic error message number 3 model is a EL 160

F70 and F71 are two logic board error codes that point at a communication error between the main logic module and the control pad (user interface and CCU), and between the motor control unit and central control (MCU, andd CCU that is main control module).
Repair is difficult, as motor, wiring and voltages from control modules must be tested.

Try first doing a reset, by disconnecting power cord or tripping circuit breaker and leaving power off for five minutes.

If that does not help and errors come back, then the best thing to do is calling the service number listed on the user manual.

F70: CENTRAL CONTROL UNIT HEARTBEAT FAILURE
If a Central Control Unit Heartbeat Failure is displayed, no communication is detected from the Central Control Unit to the User Interface.

1. Check for continuity of the User Interface harness.
2. Check wire harness connections to the User Interface and the Central Control Unit.
3. Replace User Interface if drum is rotating.
4. Replace Central Control Unit if drum is not moving

F71: USER INTERFACE HEARTBEAT FAILURE
If a Central Control Unit Heartbeat Failure is displayed, no communication is detected from the User Interface to the Central Control Unit.

1. Check for continuity of the User Interface harness.
2. Check wire harness connections to the User Interface and the Central Control Unit.
3. Replace User Interface if drum is rotating.

2 most common causes of that sympton would be

1. Lamp failure is the most logical culprit BP96-01403a is the lamp number and I recommend only using an OEM replacement

2. Color wheel malfunction. Usually when the wheel fails you will hear a very loud motor spinning sound from within the tv.

If you havent replaced the bulb in a couple years that would be the most logical cause.

I searched for quite some time without success and I am Pretty good at finding things.

I could not even come up with the part number for the door. I did find the following:
1. Door Seal
2. Door Glass
3. Door Handle
4. Door Hinges

No luck on finding the complete door assembly.
Another alternative... if the Yorkshire area has an appliance recycling venter you may be able to find one there or in the classified ads "for parts only" But then your faced with disposing of the "junk."
I recommend you contact Hoover using the number or Lonk above and see what they can do for you.

I wish I could have done more for you but the whole door assembly just does not seem to be readily available.

i would check the filter incase there is someting stuck in the pump. would explain the rattling noise and also the error code.

The model number you gave does not produce a manual, only an error message. Check again on the model number and insert it in the search window on that page.

This is a logic board issue. You can purchase a replacement one at searspartsdirect.com. Enter in your model number and a parts list will come up. This is a fairly easy install, make sure and unplug the unit first. You will have to reprogram the remotes. Thanks BB
