Samsung RS261MDPN not cooling properly

Refrigerator side seems to be keeping things cool enough, but freezer section is not (things are starting to defrost). Both sides are set at coldest settings. Also, ice maker quit working properly a while back. It won't dump the ice unless you press the reset button each time. This problem started about the time my water was shut off for a water heater repair. Don't know if this was related to water being off or just coincidental timing.

SOURCE: SAMSUNG FRIDGE FREEZER NOT COOLING. ICE BUILDING

Fan unit or defrost element has failed, usually the defrost element, not a hard DIY, just be very careful. Check fan is running first and that it is not part of the new icy growth inside the freezer, regardless, you will need to defrost this glacier first before you can do anything and PLEASE dont resort to a blow torch, there is plastic and pressure gas in there. Just be patient and watch the fins on the cooling unit, you could shave with that stuff. Good luck, any probs, call me on 08 9523 0552. Russ

Freezer is not even keeping ice cream from melting..and the 2 slots at the top in the back by the top shelf?? Are filled with IVE

Do an old fashioned dethaw of your icemaker. Remove food in compartment, unplug or turn off freezer. Leave doors closed, and get a thick towel and a pot of boiling water. Place the towel under the pot, close the door, and let the heat from the pot warm up that frozen freezer vent. That will clear the ice so the fan can draw cold air out into the freezer

Not cooling and led blinking from top to bottom

Your refrigerator is in "Cooling Off" mode, or sometimes called "Store Display Mode", which basically allows everything in the fridge to function except for the Cooling system. Press and hold down the "Lighting" and "Freezer" buttons for 5 seconds until you hear the "Ding Ding". Your 'fridge will be working again.

Not cooling

I think your soldering flat iron and the wick and the solder and the expertise to put in your caps in right and not destruction all of those other board, includes static electricty, it's not necassary to deal with your board with no static straps for the hold anyone grounded, and anything else this is certainly weakened and possiblly cause a disappointment afterwards. The actual worst you may be available can be the price tag on a new board, that is where you had been initially.

I have a Artic Air White Reach In Freezer. It is not blowing cold air from he top where the cold air comes in. Freezer was at 60 degrees F. I turned the defrost switch to make sure it wasn't in...

Is the freezer itself getting cold.To blow cold air.the freezer should get cold/friezed.the cold air blows from freezer to fridge side.first the freezer side gets cold, then when the freezer side gets enough cool to its set cooling temperature, at that time the defrost cycle starts. In defrost cycle the fan in the freezer starts running and the cool air from freezer starts going to fridge side. There is a ventilation passage between fridge and freezer from where this cool air passes.---------------- If in your case, the freezer is getting proper cold, but its not blowing cold air from freezer to fridge, then possibility is that, there is a blockage in ventilations. But if ventilation its clear, then its defrost problem.First try manual defrost reset procedure. The procedure is as follows: ---- First unplug the unit from main power outlet. Then empty whole unit completely. Then keep both the doors open. Wait for 24 hours. All the ice collected on the coils and in the freezer section will get melted. Clean the water from the sections. Then Connect the power cord of the unit to main power outlet after 24 hours/.Then set the temperature to normal in both fridge and freezer section. It will take near to 4 hours to get run in its proper cooling cycle. Then check, if the problem returns again. Then its defrost board problem. ------------------------- BUT if in your case, the freezer section itself is not getting cold, then the problem is compressor related. The compressor is the part which cools the freezer frost. In the compressor, there is a refrigerant to cool the freezer. If the compressor gets weak or the refrigerant gets low, then it will not cool the freezer, if the freezer is not cool then it will blow warm air from freezer to fridge, in defrost cycle. In that case, the compressor is faulty and its the cause of problem.------------ So you will have to first check , that is your freezer getting cold or not.as per that you can start the troubleshooting.------------------

You can get required parts from from online sites like: --- www.repairclinic.com or from searspartsdirect online site. --------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Refrigerator does not get cold

In your freezer section, there should be a "control" for the freezer temp. I say "control" because the knob is attached to a flap that only controls airflow the the lower section. If the knob is turned to coldest it will block almost all of the air from getting into your fresh food section.
