I have a hotpoint aquarius wd640 my boiler has broke so could you tell me if my washer drier is a hot or cold water fill

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
This is symptomatic of a stuck-open/malfunctioning water control valve- the hot water one, if the washer is hot and cold fill, and the cold one if it is just cold fill!
Turn of one of the supplies overnight to see which one is in error- that is if yours is hot and cold!
Then a service call, I fear ;-0(

All Hotpoint washers have heater element regardless of whether they are cold fill only, or hot and cold fill.
if 2 connections at rear, then it is hot and cold fill, if only 1 connection, then it is cold fill only.

You cant seal off the inlet, but you can get a Y adapter, its a hose that splits into 2 outlets. They are most often used to hook up steam dryers but will work for wha you need, this will allow you to use it but it will not get the best cleaning results

Try unplugging the unit and plug it back in. This may reset the controls.

There are 2 versions of the Hotpoint WD640, a cold fill only version, and a hot and cold fill version..
From your question, I conclude you have the hot and cold fill version, which requires a hot and cold fill supply..
I do not understand what you mean by leaking from top banch, perhaps you can clarify.

Not all programes fill with hot water.Try on 95 degree wash if it takes hot water ,you are dialing a prog,that does not take HOT.

take top off. you will see drier manifold going across top of machine with stats mounted on it. one or more of these stats is resetteble ie has a little button in the middle. press to reset. some hotpoint have a thermal fuse mounted on the manifold so if present, check this for continuity as well. with top still off, put on dry and check fan working as well.
if you get it going and fault reoccurs, then there is a blockage in the drier duct

The water level vacuum switch are not working , check hose might lose.
