Sounds like the common Bad Capacitor story! If your monitor is not under warranty and you have any soldering skills this is only a 10 dollar fix. There are dozens of tutorials on youtube that will walk you through this. Search "Monitor capacitor replacement".

Yesterday, my monitor went down and it was makeing a funny buzzing noise. So, I unpluged everything and pluged everything back in. It was still black with buzzing noises.

I have a 24in wide lcd monitor for my computer and

mcdevito75 here, The red power light usually means the monitor is off, if when you press the red button it turns to green, or blue then the red power button means the monitor was off. Your monitor could be burned out.

My dell dimention 9200 makes a buzzing noise and no show on monit

Sounds like its just 1 of the fans inside the case needs replacing or possibly the fan inside the power supply. These dont cost much and are easy to replace.

you need your power supply repaired. buzzing sound is a bad disc capacitor. blank picture can be bad mofsetts, invertor and bad capacitors.

Monitor Buzz on start -up

Try a different monitor or this monitor on a different computer. If it makes same noise on different machine or new monitor makes no noise on your machine you need a new one.

Hello,

Based on what you have stated your Dell monitor is dead. Seek support/replacement under warranty. If you purchase this with a credit card you have a double warranty through your credit card. You'll have to suffer through Dell's phone support to allow them to troubleshoot your dead monitor but be patient and a new or newer model will be on its way to you soon.
