Please insert a disk into Drive E

I recently bought a 4Gb USB stick and initially it seemed to work fine. However, one day when I plugged it into my laptop, when I tried to access it, it came up saying following errors,

Errors :

1)I cannot format the pendrive.
2)when i double click on the removable disk,it says
           Please insert a disk into Drive E : ''
3)i used a pendrive format utility but the problem persists again.
4)i tried to format it using gnome also, but of no use.

The light on the USB stick is on, and I can see it in my computer, but I can not access it as it gives me the same error message. I have tried to google this and I have played around with the drivers in device manager, but to no avail. I am using XP Pro (SP3) and usually have no problems with USB devices.

please help me..without going to service centres.

USB DEVICE NAME : Transcend JF V 10 ( 4 GB )

Probably you removed the pen without properly stopping the device.
usb pens are sensitive about this. you must use an icon that is on traybar to stop usb storage devices before removing them.
now it is probably in read only mode or damaged.
if it is still inside warranty try to replace it.

My usb 4gb flash don my computer only reads in a secure K with 1m

See http://www.maxell.eu/FAQ2/FAQ.html

Venture USB contain two partitions - one named 'Public' and the other 'Secure'. Unfortunately we have noticed a compatibility problem between these drives and some computers running Windows Vista. In these cases only one drive is showing in 'My Computer' - usually the 'Secure' drive. As a result you are unable to access the user manuals and software which are in the 'Public' drive and cannot alter the partition sizes to allow access to the entire capacity.

Please follow the below instructions to resolve the problem:

1. Connect the USB to the computer
2. Please unzip and run the attached program
3. After completion please unplug the USB
4. Re-insert the USB to the USB port
5. You should now be able to access both drives.

Please click here to download the program and instructions

PLEASE INSERT A DISK INTO DRIVE(H): (pendrive problem)

I had the same issue with my 4GB Sony Memory Card when I put it in my memory card slot on my computer. I have a Toshiba laptop, so what I did that fixed the problem is I went to Toshibas Support Webpage in the downloads section and under the CATEGORY: Driver Card Reader and re-downloaded: Ricoh Card Reader for Windows 7 (32/64)(v3.54.02; 09-04-2009; 4.94M) and once I did that it read my memory card and didn't give me any more issues and it opened all my pictures. Of course if you don't have a Toshiba then you would go to your manufacturers web site and see if they have the same thing, because that is what fixed my issue and it didn't take long at all.

You do not need any drivers in windows for these drives if you are using XP/Vista. These are generic volumes. Try deleting any mention of the driver in device manager and let windows install it automatically. This sounds a lot more that your pen drive is dead. Time for a new one. Can you borrow a friends and plug it in to test the USB port is ok?

USB problem

It seems the DVD player is not recognizing 4GB flash disk. I have checked and I can't see that there is a firmware update for this model though I can see one for the DMR 50. Try contacting Jamo support

If you have another usb lead or a lead that can collect two usb sockets to the flash disk you may find this works as there is more 5 volts power available from two sockets.

We depend on you rating solutions - I hope this is useful.

Unable to access files on SONY memory stick

Hello. Windows will automatically give it the next drive letter available whenever you install it on a computer. That being said, it sounds like the stick itself is bad. It won't work on any computer so that rules out a computer issue. Since you cannot access it once it recognizes the drive, the media has become corrupted or gone bad. Try right clicking on the drive and formatting it but if that doesn't work, I'm afraid its toast.
