This thing seems impossible to set and the instruction manuals on the timex site for the 1440 are not the same as my watch, which has Mode and Indiglo on the left and Start/Stop and Adjust on the right.
I somehow set it to beep every hour, which I hate. It also went into 24 hour mode. I can figure out how to change this or to reset anything but the alarm. Please help.
my problem is the online instructions do not match my watch-sport 1440 with 4 buttons: mode & indiglo on left, start/stop & adjust on right. i need basic instructions on how to set the time and turn off the alarm. i've given up on all other features since it is too complicated, and pushing the buttons in attempts to set has given me blisters!my problem is the online instructions do not match my watch-sport 1440 with 4 buttons: mode & indiglo on left, start/stop & adjust on right. i need basic instructions on how to set the time and turn off the alarm. i've given up on all other features since it is too complicated, and pushing the buttons in attempts to set has given me blisters!

my freaking Carpal Tunnel killing me. Man, this is the most ridiculous thing. I just wanted something simple with a timer that I could use on the jogging trail. For 14 bucks I thought surely it would be simple enough. Silly me, this is the most complicating thing ever. I would rather put together a 25 speed bike.my freaking Carpal Tunnel killing me. I can't find the correct instructions to match my 1440 Sports watch on your webs site at Timex.com and unfortunately I accidentally threw away the paper instructions that in English that came with the watch. I was able to use those instructions without a problem to set my watch to beeping every hour BUT NOW your website does not have instructions for this watch.
Why? the photo you have on your website does not match the 1440 model.
Mine has ONLY 2 buttons on each side. Your photo and instructions have THREE buttons on each side.
My watch has the words 50 Meter Water Resistant on the back. Does that help. You have to push VERY hard to get the watch to do anything and it is painful to the fingers after awhile.
Please send instructions on how to stop the hourly alarm that I set.
Also somehow today, I set an alarm to go off at 4:07 pm. How do I stop that as well.
thanks,

I can't set the day, month, date and time of day. I have been following instructions as shown on your web page. It seems all instructions are geared to running, laps, best time etc. No specificinstructions to just set the time. [email protected] Please help today otherwise I will return this item to the store. In order to unset the military time on the watch you must hold down the two top buttons until the the 12 hour format comes back. in order to turn off the alarm you must hold down the two right buttons until they beep..and then the alarm will go off

My watch has model number 504-tsk085, labeled Timex 1440 Sports, and Timex provides the incorrect manual for it online. I wrote these instructions after careful experiment:
Upper left button: press to switch to a stopwatch, or...
Press and hold to enter alarm setting mode. Once flashing press again to enter time/date setting mode.
-- you can only do one or the other without exiting the setting
mode (time or alarm set).
- within the setting mode you use the two right side buttons
in obvious ways to set times/dates
Exit setting mode by pressing upper left again
Lower left button: light
Upper right button (when not setting time): reveal date while pressed
Lower right button (when not setting time): reveal alarm time while pressed.
ALSO: WHILE lower right button is pressed you can change alarm
on/off and chime on/off through the four possible settings by
secondarily pressing the upper right button repeatedly.
mcdevito75 here, For now, you need to know 2 buttons, the MODE and SET buttons, First press the MODE button, you may have to hold it in 2--3 seconds, see the display Blinking, now press the SET button for each function, (hour, minute etc). press MODE after each function is set, after all is set Press MODE for steady display. Here"s Timex Contact number for a manual, 800-448-4639
The instructions at the Timex site for a 1440 seem to be for a different watch than our 1440. We eventually found our copy of the instructions and they are titled W-163-US. I found these same instructions here: http://www.sports-watches.co.uk/watch_manuals/5e061.pdf
