hope you can help me to fix the colour on my tv. I can get sound but it s in black and white and cant figure out how to have colour...

Hi same problem as above with an LG 26LG30D bought today (25th January 2009) we have a "transact" set box cablke tv thing which we are getting the channels though but all is in black and white, dvds and VCR play in colour but not tv channels. all connections look right! help! please :)

your TV has burn screen or traces.it comes from one image left on the screen for too long, it can get burned into the screen, making it visible at all times. You can actually eliminate most screen burns with the use of a PC computer and a black and white screen saver. This trick eliminates screen burn after a period of several minutes because the black and white screens flash quickly, removing all traces of color from the screen. This will eventually eliminate any burned images on the LCD screen.you can do it by creating a DVD picture slide with only black and white image.you can use a computer to make DVD picture slidefirstgo to paint brush and draw only white then save as white.jpg.secondburn it into nero or other dvd burnerthirdplay it to your DVD player connected to you LCD TV.it has to be played in full screen
let the white image display on your HDTV for several hours or even overnight. It should remove any burned-in images or ghosts.hope this help............... thanks....
You have to option in LCD Source In-Put.All LCD Have this In-Put Com posit-Yellow/Red/White (AV) In LCD Select AV Mode After That Connect Yellow /Red/White as per color pin given in your LCD. Component-Green/Blue/Red If you have Component in put in your LCD than select from source component mode for Red/Blue/Green.
If your screen has a picture in the left corner with a small square with lines on it but still has sound...try this....
unplug your TV itself from the power source, then hold down the power button on the tv itself for 1 minute, then release.... Plug the tv back in and see if the issue is resolved. I just called LG customer support and a woman walked me through this process and it fixed the issue !!!! Hope this helps..
Make sure that the color control level is set to the default or 50% to start with. This should be in the Video menu.
The colour for the tuner and for the encoded base-band video uses a circuit area called the colour demodulator. It is possible that this cirucuit area has failed and needs servicing.
check cable connections. hd source with any cables other than hdmi or dvid will usually cause visual resets to very low resolution and to b an w sometimes. its part of digital rights management (drm). good luck mark
