power coming in from the breaker box: black wire will go to line-hot screw, and the white wire will go to the line-white screw. the switch wires coming out of the back of the gfci- 1 will go to the load-hot screw & the other black wire will wire nut to the black wire going to the light. the white wire going to the light must go to the load-white screw.

First, turn off the power to this circuit to avoid getting a shock.

If the two devices that are controlled by the combination switch are lights, you will want to join the two (2) white (neutral) wires together with a wire nut, as these are not connected to the switch.

You also want to connect the bare copper wires (ground) together and connect one of them to the switch's green grounding screw and IF the wall box is metal, you also need to attach the ground wire to the box with a green grounding screw.

Now, you can connect the wires that go to your lights, the red and black wires that are part of the same wire and are routed to the same location thru the wall box. Take either the black or red and connect them to the screws on the side of switch that are not connected together with the small brass strip between them. Put the red on one of these screws and the black on the other.

Now with the black wire that is the hot (Common), this is the one that is bringing power into the wall box, should be connected to the other side of the switch, the one with the two (2) screws that are joined together with the brass strip between them.

This will allow you to turn on and off each of the lights (or a fan, etc) separately with each switch sharing the common power source.

Here's a picture of the switch that shows the side of the switch with the common side and the brass strip that connects the screws together. This is the side where the one black (hot / common) wire that supplies the power gets connected.

You can also open up the box the switch came in and you'll find a wiring diagram for the switch that illustrates how to properly wire the switch for your application.

Tap into ignition power source

Don't bother with finding a certain wire Bro,go to the fuse panel and use a contenuity test light.Hook aligator clip to ground and turn the switch on.Touch the test probe to any fuse an the tester bulb will light up.Turn switch off and light goes out.Under the panel cap will tell you what the fuse goes to.Best to use one that isn't part of ignition circute cause you may be using it while riding and could take power from the ignition.Use one that's power to lights or brake light switch is most power for USB charger.Mount the recepticle somewhere inconspicuous,like on seat frame,so doesn't take away from bikes apperance,and get a little brass clip from any auto parts store,that clips on the fuse,pop fuse out and test which side is still hot,and clip the brass tang to the other side so you are the a fused connection.Run your hot wire and good to go.The recepticle mounting is your ground to complete the circut.

I want to add a new circut to my fuse panel

Maybe I am not understanding you correctly. Most motor homes and RV come standard with a shore power recepticle. Are you wanting to add two sources of power? If so, you will need to really rework your wiring on the inside of your RV.
I have a generator on my motorhome and the generator plugs into the source recepticle when I want to run on generator, or I unplug to connect shore power.

I get reading on load side of breaker but nothing at switches and recepticles.

There is more then likely a broken wire somewheres, its probably in behind a switch/plug/light somewheres... your best bet is to call an electrician and they should be able find the problem with ease.

How many sets of wires are coming into the box?
If the box is in the middle of the circuit you will have a power-source black & white wire coming in and a power-source black & white wire going out. And in this case for the switch - there must be a black and a white wire going to a light.

Typically with a switch/outlet combination all the white wires will splice together with a white pig-tail wire to feed the neutral side of the device. The two black wires from the power-source will splice together with a black pig-tail and feed the hot-side of the device. The black wire going to the light will go on one side of the switch.

Looking at outlet/switch device from the front the large slot side of the outlet will be the neutral side and the smaller outlet slot will be the hot side. The neutral side screws will be steel colored and the hot side screws will be brass colored. The white wires will go to the neutral side steel colored screws, and the black wires will go on the hot side brass colored screws on the outlet.

The black wire comig into the box from the light is called a switchleg and goes to a brass screw on one side of the switch. The brass screw on the otherside of the switch will be for the black wire coming from the power-source.

from power source black/hot wire to switch, white and bare/ground wires wire nut white to white bare to bare. run then to outlet white wire to silver screw bare to green screw. black wires to outlet from top switch to top of outlet bottom switch to bottom outlet break off fin on hot side of outlet should be brass screws dont' forget to turn off power before you start.

The generator runs fine but will not give us any powere

Hello, Has this generator been setting for awhile or was it in use when the power ever came back on? Have you tried to repolarize it? To do this , Shut off the generator and unplug any cords or wiring from unit. Take a electrical cord that has a plug on one end and seperate the wires on the other end of cord. Strip the ends of the wire back about half an inch on each seperated wire.Plug the Male end of the wire into one of the 110V recepticles. Connect one of the ends of the wire you stripped back to the positive side of a 12 volt battery. Now with the other end of the wire you stripped back touch it to the Negative side of the battery for 1 sec and remove it. Unplug the wire from the recepticle and battery. Fire up the Generator and check the voltage! This repolarizes the unit and fixes most non generating problems from Non use and back feeding! Hope that helped! Rick
