How to use an electric shaver

If you are a using an electric shaver for the first time, I hope that this article will get you going. Proper techniques will ensure the best, closest shave possible. Maintaining the razor by properly cleaning and recharging it will also ensure that the razor works correctly and does not malfunction during use. Proper care and maintenance of the electric razor will also ensure that the razor will last for years to come. Consider this article as a shaving-best-practices template for your first electric shaver.

Firstly, clean your face and dry it. Electric shavers do a better job when your face is clean. Turn the electric razor on and begin shaving against the direction of hair growth, moving the shaving head linearly and in circles. Circular motion Stretch the skin with your other hand to make the hair stand up straighter so the razor blades shave closer.

After shaving, turn it off and rinse the cutting heads under warm water. You can also use jet clean system once a week to clean your shaver. Make sure that you charge it for the time specified in user manual. Overcharging may cause damage to the battery.

Make single edge razor blades shaves smoother and last longer!

If you shave with a single edge blade, add a few drops of liquid soap onto the Hot blade edge,"Before you shave." After shaving and before storing, Rinse and clean the razor with hot water and shake dry!
It will be good for many, many shaves.

This is the first time I am shaving with an electric shaver, is there anything I need to know?

If your switching to electric shaver or it is the first time you shave you will need to give your face three weeks to adjust to electric shavers. Try not to fluctuate back and forth between blade shaving and electric shaving during the first three weeks.

My shaving head came apart and I can not re assemble it, kindly give me instructions

Wife cleaned bathroom shelf dropping the Arcitec. One of 3 heads was not aligned properly, when I tried to re-seat it, this head came apart. To put it back together takes some finesse and patience. Take a coil of stamps, or some other small opening to rest the outer plastic shell head, then insert the metal screen which has notches (2 small, 1 large) and fit it in the plastic shell head. Next put the metal blade assembly on the screen. Next align this on the metal (thin) pivot. When the outer plastic head, and the metal pivot are aligned (small peg holes), you can place the thin inner plastic piece on and gently press your sub assembly and the backing plastic together, It will snap together and hold. Don't FORCE it, the holes must be aligned on the outer plastic, the metal pivot frame, with blades resting on the screen. It does snap together. Work with fairly bright light to see what you are doing. If this fails, invest in a new head assembly for about 15% of the cost of the whole razor.

I dropped my 8985 braun and it will no longer shave with the foil head on. It does work if you remove the foil. Did I loose a part?

You probably dented the foil head enough to stop the vibratory action of the blades, thus the working when the foil is removed. Braun has a replacement foil and blade kit sold at Walmart.

Why would one of the shaving heads on Shaver spin around??

Most likely, one of the shaver heads is damaged and the cutter is embedded in the comb causing the whole thing to spin. It could also be that the retainer that holds the blades in blace is worn or broken and can not properly hold it in place.
If you require new heads or retainer, you should find what you need at shaveroutlet.com

Shaver started making a much louder buzzing sound, no longer shaves as well and now hurts a bit to use. Can this be fixed?

Hello Robert, It sounds like the foil screen might have been damaged and is causing poor shaving performance. Typically, a screen will get small holes or tears in it after providing good service for some years, however, these very thin screen foils, can get damaged other ways too.

The best way to restore the best shaving performance is to replace both the foil screen AND the cutter head block (cutter head) as it could be possible that the cutter blades have become damaged or nicked and have caused the foil screen to become damaged, as a result.

I would contact www.electricshaver.com and see if you can purchase a new set of the cutter block head and the screen foil for your particular Braun shaver model. As the Braun 360 is a tradename used on a couple of different model numbers, you really need the four (4) digit model number in order to locate the correct replacement parts.

Here's a link to their page with the various Braun replacement cutter blocks and foil screens. You might find your model number amoung them, otherwise, you can also give them a call at 1-888-476-1785 and ask them to assist you with selecting the proper replacement parts.

As you are no doubt aware, replacing the cutter head and foil screen is the best and simplest way to restore an electric shaver to a like new shaving condition and much less expensive than replacing the entire shaver.

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Plastic retainer for the shaving blades is broken

You can buy a replacement shaver head and screens from an Oklahoma shaver business, electric shaver company.

Here's a link to their site and the page for the Norelco shaver you're looking to get parts for. The 3rd item down is the shaver head and screens, blades, etc.

I don't think you can get just the plastic retainer all by itself, as the manufacturer makes a complete head and blade as a replacement set, however, you can call them to see if they have just the retainer part you need. But frankly, it's likely a good idea to change shaver heads every so often to get the best shave, etc., so you might just want to spring for the complete replacement assembly part #HQ9 on this site for under $40.00.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!
