Question about Koss KS3102 System

1 Answer

Components value I need the component value for R515B on the power supply board. I've looked for the schematic for this and haven't found it anywhere. The original problem with this unit was the power supply standby light was lit, but it wouldn't do anything. In the process of trouble shooting I shorted across the legs of Q501. Now I'm trying to put the smoke back in. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Our new Vizio DTV turns itself off after 20 minutes. We've tried all the solutions listed for 32

Hello
check its power supply regulator board for any loose soldering points. Take it out, and inspect all the soldering points. It is a commom fault to all TV sets' power supply baord, that some solder points may get loosed. Most of the components on power regulator board will heat up while sorking. Repeated heating and colling may make solder terminals of the heating components to get loose contacted.
Resolder all the suspected solder points by applying a little more solder without make any solder bridge short in between adjecent solder terminals. If this do not help you, replace the board as card basis.
You haven't given the model number of your Vizio TV here. If so, I might post a picture of the power regulator board of your Tv. OK.

Here's a hints on how to repair or fix Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Digi Mic Knopfler problem issues.
A guide picture below which I included an schematic diagram shows each every components and line paths for quick test and check up procedures.
Digi Mic Knopfler Pin configuration:
1. L/R - microphone's left and right audio signals groundings
2. CLK - Audio Clock data
3. Data - Digital Microphone data
4. VDD - Power supply voltage

Locate and trace each and every components, line paths and corresponding connection as shown on a picture. The red highlighted components and line paths is for the power supply voltage which came from Power management IC (AVILMAS) Vsim2- approximately 2-3 volts.
Test and check this components and track the supply voltage from C220 to C2170 then through the digi mic knopfler pin 4.

The pink highlighted components and line paths is for Audio Clock data signal, which is came from the Audio Codec IC (Avilmas) then flow across R2201 and R2170 (valued 100ohms each) then to the Digi mic knopfler pin number 2. Check also the C2173 valued 22p Clock filter capacitor for possible damaged.
I included step by step procedures on the images like as follows:
* Check each components and line paths.
* Replace if found open or shorted
* Jumper the line paths if found open or cut
* Check or replace the digi mic knopfler for a quickest step might as possible.

The microphone's digital data signals has also a line paths connected to the front side of the Printed circuit board, check and trace also this line paths which is connected to digi mic knopfler's pin 4

NEC vt460

It does in fact appear to be a thermistor and the TH1 board marking seems to confirm that.
What markings are on the component (it appears to be a power transistor of some kind) adjacent to it?

If we can find a standard part number for it and you own some kind of meter, perhaps we can either eliminate or identify it as the original culprit.

The failed thermistor is either acting as a temperature sensitive clamp to prevent lamp failure or regulates lamp intensity dependent on temperature.

Maybe an email to NEC would get you the value of it (TH1) since I suspect a schematic or parts list will be hard to acquire.

Hi,
Similar problem, maybe inherent to this sub, found wiring diagram ( can't remember where right now) R46 is 150 ohm - 1/4 watt. As informed by many sources - burnt resisitor just result of other fault - on replacement resisitor just smoked it up again. Have tech attempting to separate power supply from amp to locate problem. WIll post result if faulty component is located. Not much of a sub anyway - just can't bear to throw it away for cost of minor component.

P4004 - Blown Components

if burned components are on output stage or amplifier section on board..Then look at the oposite side of amp..Both amplifier section should be a mirror image oof componentc from other..that way you can know the values of parts. If they are on power supply section ..Then you might need manual if available..
